If PS5 starts selling less than Switch 2 even in Europe (Which PS5 has mostly dominated since the launch of Switch 2) then its completely over for PS5 sales vs Switch 2 this year.

Yep, the only saving grace for it, at least until GTA comes out, is price increase for Switch 2.

March should be Nintendo's first "substantial" victory.
Pokopia was a success, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force breathed some life into the barren that's Nintendo's line of games for 2026.

I believe Pokopia is moving some hardware. A true unexpected hit, will it turn in a home run?

As I said early in March... Pokopia is a hit and is moving hardware. Koei Tecmo and Omega Force breathed life into the barren that's Nintendo's line of games.

Truly amazing results for Nintendo.

With current prices Switch 2 is sure to win, PS5 is just too expensive ATM.

Playstation 5 has fallen off a cliff on Amazon's US best sellers list.

Switch 2 is no.6.

PS5 (1TB disc edition, which is the highest ranking PS5 hardware) is no.60 and is being outsold by two Meta Quest VR headset SKUs.

Not great.

I even expect Pokopia to be an evergreen title, which will sell (and move Switch 2) throughout the year. I also expect Tomodachi Life to be a success, probably not as much as Pokopia turns out to be. I think with these games Nintendo secured a stable baseline. Holidays may still be another story, but that is usually an area Nintendo does well. Also some big releases for PS5, most notably obviously GTA6, but as PS5 is at the end of it's lifecycle, I don't expect it to move hardware in the same amount, as a lot of people who want the game already own the hardware.

bets: [GTA6]

I think a big advantage for Switch 2 is that they can sell good numbers in all major markets, PS5 will sell terrible in Japan every month for example, while Switch 2 can win even in Europe sometimes which is their weakest major market. That means PS5 will face some months where its outsold not just in Japan, but in the US and Europe as well. It will be hard for them to compete with that.

It's really Nintendo's to lose at this point.

If they can maintain a reasonable price point, provide a steady stream of software, and not do something stupid to shoot themselves in the foot, they should come out on top.

It was over before it started.  I was personally stunned anyone thought the ps5 would sell more than S2.  Now with the price increase.  Not a chance.  My only surprise is how close it is.  I never thought for a second it would be the ps5.

I think there will definitely be a Switch 2 price hike coming. Could be in the near future, could be pushed until the launch of the inevitable Lite SKU. But seeing as amiibo and software prices are dropping, it looks like Nintendo has given ip on recuperating losses via non-hardware means.
