Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu Sales: Week 27, 2024 (Jul 01 - Jul 07)

Nice to see Switch back above 50k; I wonder what the cause of the increase is, is there a deal going on atm?
Switch still tracking ahead of 2018, and impressively close to 2019 for that matter. Obviously this holiday won't be as big as those years, but still, cool to see.

@ShadowLink93 Nice original post with the big picture. Continue to do these posts or @kenjab to put big pictures of games, because it's nicer that way.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild still on the TOP 30!! It was here from the Launch of The Switch !! Hope it will reach the 4th Million in Japan this FY ( with digital sales included)

The state of Japanese market is very sad thing too see. Seriously they don't care for anything other then nintendo, at least with switch 2 they should get descent hardware for gaming and thirdparty AAA games can get more sales there.

Kirby and the *not* so Forgotten Land is able to post a few 2.5K two years after launch. It truly is the evergreen Kirby game the series never had before !

Considering Sony discontinued their handheld line and closed their Japanese development studio, this is the natural result.  I do think all Japanese third parties should be putting their games on Switch 2, even if they have to intentionally make a game with lower specs.  The Final Fantasy brand has been trashed in the past few years, and part of the reason is that most Japanese gamers don't own the hardware for the latest FF games.  They really ought to port all of their latest FF games to the Switch 2 and make future AAA games for Switch 2 as well.

PC gaming has grown a lot in Japan the past few years and that isn't shown here since the game sales tracked are only physical. While Playstation has declined a lot the growth of that should make up for it.
