Welcome again to the 16th Annual Greatest Game Event on VGChartz! The idea is to make a list of your Top 50 greatest/favorite games ever and list them one day at a time over the last 50 days of the year (November 12th – December 31st). That list goes in this thread whereas discussions about our games go in the Discussion Thread. Of course with the late thread creations this year it's perfectly understandable if people aren't ready to start posting their list on November 12th, but I hope we can still get started as soon as possible. Let's have some fun!

Basic rules:
- Your top 50 is to be posted in the Official Thread (coming November 9th) where you may ONLY POST ONCE. There will also be a Discussion Thread for self-explanatory purposes.
- If you don’t feel up to the task of posting your games one day at a time then don’t. It’s voluntary and it’s perfectly okay to post the whole list at once or 10 at a time or whatever you feel like. You’re very welcome to write about your games ongoingly in the Discussion Thread through, regardless of how you post your list.
- You can also send your list to me directly, though I’d prefer if as many people as possible post in the Official Thread. Either way it will be counted in the eventual Results Thread (fingers crossed).
What games can you pick?
- Every game* released before October 31st, 2025 is allowed to be included on your list (so sorry no Metroid Prime 4 guys).
- *By games we mean any standalone releases, so no collections, compilations mods or DLC. Fanmade games (like Black Mesa; you should play Black Mesa) are allowed.
- Remasters and remakes are generally counted together with the original game unless it’s a very significant overhaul like the Resident Evil remakes, the Metroid remakes, Final Fantasy VII remakes etc.
Things you should do:
- For your ONE POST in the Official thread, don't include images or descriptions. If you want to show images or talk about your favorite games at length, the Discussion thread is the place for that.
- If you include a reboot/remake with lazy naming such as Doom (2016) make sure to include the release year so it can be differentiated from the original. Release years and platforms are also very welcome to include in general somewhere in your list.

- It’s okay to make changes to your list, as long as you make them before December 31st. This also goes for lists send to me directly.
