Yay, it begins!
You're the best, mzuzek! Thanks for hosting :D
Since I have so many games that I really love, I made a top 100 list, and even then I had to leave off quite a few games that are really great. Anyway here are the first few on my top 100.
100. Final Fantasy (NES) - At one time this would have been in my top 2, but it just hasn't aged as well as a lot of other NES games. I still like playing it though.
99. Duck Hunt (NES) - My favorite light gun game. It also is as important to gaming as Super Mario Bros, mostly because of how it helped Nintendo in Japan.
98. Wizardry (NES/Apple II) - One of the first CRPG's. Just making a party and taking it into a dungeon was so much fun.
97. Mr. Do (Arcade) - This is just pure arcade fun from the 80's. Like Dig Dug with but with its own flavor.
96. Dragon's Lair (Arcade) - Released as an arcade game in the early 80's. The graphics still look impressive today.
95. Castlevania (NES) - This is the game that started a great series. The game is simpler than later entries, but it's still very solid. Most of the great Castlevania music in later games started here.
94. Pool of Radiance (PC) - I want to actually lump in the whole series of Gold Box games that started with Pool of Radiance, (Curse of Azure Bonds, etc...). All of these games were great. I really wish they made more modern games with the same battle system as these gold box games. The battles are so much fun!
93. Marvel Super Heroes (Arcade) - A lot of these Capcom fighting games are similar to me, but this is the one I remember liking the best.
92. Temple of Elemental Evil (PC) - This takes one of the best pen and paper modules ever made and puts it into computer form. Also includes the fantastic "Village of Homlett" adventure.
91. Flicky (Genesis) - Not sure if this was originally an arcade game, but it plays like one. Feels like a very refined version of an early 80's game.
Also want to give honorable mentions to 3 games I played (and completed) this year: Dark Souls 3, Dragon Quest Builders, and Octopath Traveler. I had a ton of fun with these three games, and yet they didn't quite make my top 100. I would still recommend them to any RPG fan.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
My Bet With curl-6

It starts again! I hope there’s going to be lots of stories of their favorite games from everyone for me to read, because I like to read. Here’s to another great Greatest Games Edition.
#50: Maybe I shouldn’t bother with this one, because Veknoid knows, but here goes; In this obscure granddaddy of shooter games, what’s just a tree in Europe is a futuristic steel pyramid in the US. If the boxarts are to be believed anyway because who knows.

You overachiever! Hmm, maybe I make a TOP 100 next year, so I don't have to leave off so many games.

I try to write up something for my games, so you have to read something.
And the first hint is so hard, I have no idea.

Thank you.

But this time it's in China and there's maggggiiiiiic. #47 Was the best game on a fairly short lived console. #46 Obsidian > Bioware #45 There's an Alligator in the sewer! |
49: GoldenEye 007?
47: SoulCalibur?
46: Knights of the Old Republic II
As this is already the first day, we have to gain some ground here, so I drop hints for the first three games at once:
#50: Turn-based or real-time? I can't decide in this newest entry in the series.
#49: Six degrees of freedom!
#48: Build towers out of people.
I've ranked every game I've ever played, at over 350 at the moment. I feel like I've got a problem haha
The order of my top 50 troubled me a bit, but I'm happy with how I've got it.
My #50 is BOTW. It's the only Zelda game in my top 150. Further, it's the only one I've ever really enjoyed. A grand adventure, by no means perfect, but definitely great.
I don't know if I can hint at my next few without giving them away, but I'll give it a give it a go
46th Catch monsters, with a side trip to the shadow realm
47th The best selling PC game of all-time goes portable for the first time
48th The child of XCOM and chess
49th Fictional Europe military Strategy RPG

#48: Romance of the three kingdoms?
#47: Shenmue?
#45: Grim Fandango?
