With the release of the new gen out of the way, what do you think will the Series X/S sell next year? I talk about calendar year 2021 and numbers according to VGC. And to make it something you not just about preferences, I make it a bet, so you should put your VG$ where your mouth is.

You can also bet, which console will sell the most in 2021.

I am guessing 10 to 12 million. In 2014, the Xbox One sold 7.9 million.

I would assume the Series consoles will do considerably better. Especially with the Series S as a cheap next gen option. People dismiss the Series S and somewhat understandably, but its still a significant upgrade over base 8th gen consoles and has great 9th gen features like fast loading.

With the possibility of Halo landing in 2021, the price point of the S, and the assumption that Starfield gets announced as an XBox btand exclusive...I am going to go with a very optimistic 15-17.5 mil.

Xbox has never sold more than 13.8 million in a single year, VERY optimistic  to suggest 17.5 million

Well, there is always the possibility of a first. (-:

But yeah, too bold for me, I go a little lower.

10,500,001 million.

Attention: I added two options beyond 20M. If that is important, you can change your current bet.

I'm going to go with 10m.

Well, Xbox One sold 7.9m in 2014, and so far Xbox Series demand is far outstripping Xbox One demand (Xbox One was findable on store shelves on Black Friday week in 2013, XSS and XSX are sold out just about everywhere this week by comparison, even in most smaller markets for Xbox). MS has even said that it may take until March or April for initial demand to be met.

Bearing the above in mind, as well as the fact that Xbox will have a $300 option (Series S) available throughout all of 2021 as opposed to XB1 being $400 at the lowest for only half of 2014, and the fact that 2021 has a mainline Halo and maybe even Starfield as an Xbox console exclusive, I’m going to guess sales will be in at least the 10-12.5m range on the poll, maybe even 12.5-15m range.

Largely dependant on if Forza Horizon 5 and Starfield make that year. Halo is also a wild card in terms of how many systems it will sell

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
