I know I'm more than a few years in the wrong order here, but I played Dragon Age: Origins after Baldur's Gate III and I gotta say to me it was a very similar game with even more likeable characters and better story. Even just comparing my screenshots of the two games you get a very similar vibe. But yeah even though I started the game last year I ended up taking a long break from it and finishing it this summer and it's earned a spot as one of my new favorite western RPGs. The writing is fantastic ranging from witty to very dark and I kinda love the Wow inspired gameplay (I assume? It's 5 years after), even if it could use just a tad more polish (thus why I've listed it as one of the best 00s games for a potential remake).
And despite how much I loved the main game I haven't even had time to play Awakening yet, so there's still that to look forward to at some point.
