  • So .. until the middle of March last year, Xbox Series did half of it's sales .. it's sales really fell of a cliff after March, to sell the same amount for the other 9 and a half months what it sold in the first 2 and a half months of the year.
  • Nice hold for the Switch 2, little more on that 100ish level and it will have decent shot at beating the 3DS peak year of 5.5M in Japan.
  • Switch 1 drops a little bit (I personally expect to drop until 10-12k and this to be its baseline for the most of the year.
  • PS5 is very hard to predict, On one side it is dropping each year by a lot. And this year at least until now the drops is there - 50%, however the less sales it did the more easy it becomes to match it again. So if it keeps that baseline of around 15K, it may reach the last year number in the end, but again, everything can happen. It can go either way. As easy is to see it doing 900k or even a million, it's easy to see it doing 500-600k as well.

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / JP 2026 / 2026 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

Best holiday months / When will the Switch pass 160M? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX / Switch 2

Aren't those really bad numbers for Monster Hunter? Maybe the Stories sub-series does sell around that?

Hold on tight there ps5! Because 13k for the rest 41 weeks means 540k sales and PS5 hitting 8m milestone, which I hope it happens this year!

Have you made any thread about  sales comparison between PS4 vs PS5 sixth year?

A Google Search:

As of June 2024,
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has surpassed 2 million units in lifetime sales worldwide, establishing itself as a commercial success for Capcom. The original Monster Hunter Stories achieved over 300,000 retail sales in Japan, but did not reach 1 million units globally.
Sales Breakdown:
  • Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (2021): Over 2 million units (Switch, PC, PS4).
  • Monster Hunter Stories (2016/2017): Roughly 350,000 in Japan; did not hit the 1 million unit milestone to appear on Capcom's top-selling list.

Also the third entry looks to be quite a bit more expensive then the first two.

Monster Hunter Spinoff FW Comparison:

  • Diary (PSP) - 280,581
  • Stories (3DS) - 154,390
  • Stories 2 (NS) - 137,676
  • Diary G (PSP) - 102,963
  • Stories 3 (NS2+PS5) - 54,906
  • Diary DX (3DS) - 52,272

Pretty disappointing results

MHS3 does seem super low, 55k total is not so hot

我是广州人

Hurray, NS2 seems to attaining 5m sold through before the the current fiscal year ends!

MarioKart World isn't doing as hot as I would be expecting... not even a year after launch and it's legs are weaker than Animal Crossing New Horizons (NSW+NS2 Edition) and MTFever. Perhaps this is just an off week? Since Pokopia is the big game moving units this week, and not MarioKart.

I was going to say that you need to account for digital... but I'm not sure that'd help very much. That's disappointing.
