A Google Search:
As of June 2024,
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has surpassed 2 million units in lifetime sales worldwide, establishing itself as a commercial success for Capcom. The original Monster Hunter Stories achieved over 300,000 retail sales in Japan, but did not reach 1 million units globally. Sales Breakdown:
- Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (2021): Over 2 million units (Switch, PC, PS4).
- Monster Hunter Stories (2016/2017): Roughly 350,000 in Japan; did not hit the 1 million unit milestone to appear on Capcom's top-selling list.
Also the third entry looks to be quite a bit more expensive then the first two.
