Almost surely the Switch 2. It could sell over 5m in Japan alone this year considering it's not even fully fulfilling demand there yet so that would be a gap of over 4m the PS5 would have to make up elsewhere and Europe could make up a lot but not enough. My high end expectation for the PS5 is 16m and my low end one for the Switch 2 is 17m so I expect a gap of about 2-3m between the two. GTA 6 is huge but it's not gonna prevent the PS5 from declining this year, just significantly soften the decline due to giving the PS5 a really strong holiday.

Switch 2 would have to royally underperform to not win this. This could've been a lot closer if GTA6 retained its May release date.

But I guess it can still be close-ish in the event it gets a price hike and PS5 doesn't. Remember... Sony increased PS5's price and reduced storage in response to Trump's tariffs and rising SSD prices. Nintendo didn't. But we don't know which one between the two will be affected first by the new RAM problem. If only we can have a quick glance at their contracts...

Switch 2, but I think it will be close. Probably no more than a 2m gap.

You think Switch 2 is going to outsell Switch 1's 2018 by almost 40%? That would be very impressive lol.

It had a crazy launch but I expect it to be much more similar to SW1 sales patterns going forward, like it was this holiday quarter.

Switch 2. Console sales usually increase in the second year and decline at the end of life. Switch 2 should cross the 20 million units mark and PS5 maybe 15 million? Of course, GTA VI is huge, but the install base is already there and there will be heavy rumors of a PS6 at the end of the year. Switch 2 on the other hand could be kneecapped by a price hike (so could PS5 of course). Crazy times we live in.

PS5, you people really underestimate the craziness around GTA VI

Considering Switch 2 has no big worldwide system seller announced for this year and the decline in it's sales in Europe and the US these last months, I don't see it selling as good as 2025. Not even talking about the possible price increase hinted by Nintendo.

Sony already announced they are not gonna increase the console price this year
