Forums - Sales - The Road to 160m+ for Nintendo Switch (EDIT: See mod note in first post for new rule).

The Switch 2 is selling above 200.000 units each month in the weakest part of the year. I truly believe thar the 2 million number is very conservative and it will probably be surpassed. I also believe there is a place on the market for the Lite that has not been replaced. It is the cheapest and smallest handheld on the market.

Let's see.

You mean the Switch 1?

As for the weakest part of the year, I think we're not at it yet. I believe May-Sep are considered the weakest months

Let's see how the increase in its price in Japan will affect the Switch's sales

New report claiming Nintendo plans to release the Switch in India in February or March 2027 for around Rs 20,000 ($208 USD). Not sure this will move a ton of consoles, but if this is true it does mean the Switch should remain in production for at least a few more years.

Yeah, lol, if Nintendo isn't stopping production that's a pretty big problem for the whole "No" crowd on this, because they really don't have any kind of argument to make on the basis of actual demand itself, everyone knows they could hit 160 million it's just a matter of whether they halt production or not before it gets there. If they continue to manufacture systems are even introducing it into new markets at the point, that's a bit of a problem for the <160 crowd.

It would suggest they are not planning to stop producing these systems in the near future as much as some believed.

If India adds even 500k LTD shipped there from now until when ever Nintendo does discontinue that would be enough to significantly alter a lot of things too, lol.

That would be great if accurate, finally a hint that nintendo will continue production.

Also the rumored release date is almost just 1month of the yearly forecast of 2m...

Why it took so many years to release it there?

Ι wonder To which other high population markets ns hasnt launch!

Was ds available in india?

(and china)?

I wouldn't expect the Switch to sell anything amazing in India as it has been available on the grey market and the PS2 only sold 900,000 there. But even 200,000 to 300,000 over the course of a few years would help and it shows the Switch will remain in production until 2030.

India is most likely the biggest market the Switch hasn't officially released in.

Since Ns is on track to fall short of 160m(unless it exceeds the current forecast out of nowhere) , these 200k - 300k extra sales can make a significant difference, you are implying it nevertheless.
