Edit: BTW, why do I sometimes see the name of the person who agreed with my post and sometimes only "somebody"? And how do I check if my name is being displayed when I like someone's post? I think it's better if people know who agreed haha.

In forum options under settings uncheck anonymous likes and it'll stop saying somebody when you like a post. I had no idea about that option till @XtremeBG told me about it recently.

The interesting fact is that this is by default for everyone. When it shouldn't be ..

Alizee when she sang "Moi ...Lolita" was also a crush for me but I was 16 already so that this doesn't really count as "first crush" I guess.

Thank you guys! Looks like it was unchecked for me, so I'll keep it as is.

Well, the cover art and handbook gave the needed context:

True, but even then you needed a hefty dose of imagination to flesh out these comparatively basic 3D renders.

Then again, people crush on characters in literature where their appearance is entirely constructed in our imagination, so maybe there's something to be said for less being more.

Still, for me at least I don't remember having any video game crushes as a kid, mine were all from movies.

Oh but 1996 already had dial up internet and Tomb Raider had Natalie Cook in 1996 as official model. Plus plenty cosplay options.

I think my actual first crush was Atreyu in grade 6

The Neverending story was my story at that time, reading fantasy to escape bullying. The teacher had that movie on for her birthday in grade 4 (grade 6 here) and I wanted to be like Atreyu. I also had riding lessons back then because my sister was into horses and it was easier for my parents to put me on them as well as a two for one deal. Horses are much nicer than people anyway lol.

Before that it was Mowgli from Jungle book which I saw in kindergarten. Although I guess it's more a Freundschaftscrush or bromance / squish.

For romantic crush, Juliette Lewis from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 1989

Cape Fear 1991

Natural Born Killers 1994

Strange Days 1995

I didn't get the internet at home til 2006 so I missed out on that stuff back in the day.

But yeah Juliette Lewis was a cutie.

Liv Tyler was also stunning

Was indeed. She's only a year older than me and I must say I aged a lot better! Liv Tyler also did weird stuff with her face.

We started with 2400 baud modems, downloading dithered 16 color porn in the late 80s. The effort/time it took just for one picture lol.

Wow, I only see people of culture in here, great mentions all around! The Pink Ranger and Winona Ryder being mentioned is at least half expected. But Sorsha from Willow?! Wow, what an out of left field pick, but definitely one of my early favourites as well.

I gotta go with Winona Ryder as well. In the 1990 movie Mermaids she played the daughter of Cher and was full of sexual repression from up tight christian morals. But the movie showed her fighting through that with a sexual awakening. That certainly did something for me.

I also have to mention "My Stepmother is an Alien" with Kim Basinger. I still remember some shots of her getting dressed in the beginning of the movie.

Been thinking hard about this but I really can't remember which was the first. Back as a child, I only knew at which times cartoons and anime would be on TV, so most other shows I'd just watch whenever I happened to see them by chance. I also never had an actual crush, just thought some looked hot. Some characters I remember:

- Xena from Xena Warrior Princess

- Samantha Carter and Daniel Jackson's wife (forgot her character's name) from Stargate SG-1

- The Baywatch girls

- Seven of Nine (Star Trek Voyager)

Hell yeah

I didn't see Xena until much later, but was quite infatuated with Red Sonja, Brigitte Nielsen

As well as Jane Fonda in Barbarella

Jennifer Jayson-Leigh in Flesh+Blood

She's still attractive as Willa Quin in High Potential today

Daryl Hannah also stood out in Blade Runner (also starred in Kill Bill later)

80's crushes.

80's crushes.

Great picks!

I was born in '89 so by the time I got old enough to have crushes the 80s were long over, but I did crush on Michelle Pfeifer a bit in Ladyhawke later
