Well… what you once called “strange” seems to be reality. There was a +50% WoW boost for NS1 sales figures with the Lite model being the most popular SKU. NS2 got slapped hard, down to 41k. You shoulda listened to me, Norion!

Also: 500k for Tomodachi Life is utterly crazy. That makes for one of the biggest launched in JP of the Switch generation.

When you sell as low as Switch 1 is selling now in general, 50% isn't much .. and it isn't doing enough for anything .. some 10-15k more is nothing .. Even if that translates into 50k for 1 month globally.

Switch 1 is still selling quite well in JP, though I do kinda know what you mean: 50% boost isn't something like NS2 going going from 80k to 120k, but 20k up to 30k. It is still a non-negligible bump, especially for a system with as many units out there as Switch 1 in JP.

Yes, but when you talk there will be a boost in sales, often the person saying it, means there will be some impact, or it will make a difference. 10k for one week in Japan is barely any difference. And even 50k for the month globally, is also nothing in the grand scheme of things. Therefore talking about boost of such low numbers is pointless. But technically yes, the boost is there.

you are literally repeating what I just said lol: 50% is a statistically noteworth difference, but 10k isn't anything massive.

Yea that is why boost doesn't even need to be mentioned here, and supposedly why Norion said something similar in his post.

Not worth is that it had a  back to back Increase in weekly sales.

Not sure I see the problem in mentioning it...? It's definitely noteworthy in my opinion, but each to their own. No point in arguing further.

And up 20% YoY. Very impressive results.

My answer was to your quote to the post from Norion. Significant means the thing we talked about .. His post was on place.

Most of us were expecting a significant boost, but not  a 31k week and notably yoy up as you mention.

Also, Golden week is approaching.

What was confirmed though, is that Nintendo switch lite has indeed the potential to stay as the budget gaming option.

16k sales alone, it's more or less what we expect as the baseline for the whole NS1 family.

Let's see if Nintendo will actually leverage it.
