That would be strange to me since the Switch 2 can play it as well and is a way better value purchase. I looked at how the 3DS was boosted from the last Tomodachi Life and it did get one but not that much despite coming out early in its life so I'm not expecting that significant of a boost either way.

Well… what you once called “strange” seems to be reality. There was a +50% WoW boost for NS1 sales figures with the Lite model being the most popular SKU. NS2 got slapped hard, down to 41k. You shoulda listened to me, Norion!

Also: 500k for Tomodachi Life is utterly crazy. That makes for one of the biggest launched in JP of the Switch generation.

I mean I think that expectation was reasonable since a big game releasing on an old console that can also be played on a new one usually boosts hardware a lot more for the new one. I guess the lack of a Switch 2 edition and consequently lack of a marketing push for that played a role. Due to the Switch 2 getting no boost at all the total sales boost is actually lower than I expected. I would've guessed that the numbers for April 13-19th would've been something like 25k Switch 1 and 70k Switch 2.

It was definitely a reasonable one, I agree. I think Tomodachi Life is just a very special case, having only ever been released on handheld devices at $40USD.

Also I'm sorry if my message this morning came off a little rude. I just re-read it with a brain at 7pm CST and...yeah I feel a little bad.

Perhaps it is and it's alright, I didn't mind. It just came across as poking a little fun.
