Forums - Sales - Famitsu Sales: Week 15, 2026 (Apr 06 - Apr12)

pre orders of tomodachi life.

Amazon jp has the amazing feature of mentioning weekly sales of each product.

Very interested to see how Tomodachi sells next week, given the enormous install base of Switch, plus the audience established by such games as Animal Crossing and Pokopia; it has the potential to be a megaton.

NS1 keeps defying some odds.
Even a preliminary tomodachi boost?
Let's see if ns lite has sufficient stock, but regardless if it doesn't and eventually gets replenished again, it means ns will be a live oak for another year. This is the first week of the new fiscal year, 10th for NS.

Too pity Nintendo didn't release an ns1 lite TLLD themed.
This would scatter once and for all the doubts about how much longer will be available.

We're now in the 11th FY for the Switch, no? Those first days when it was released in March 2017 until March 31 count as a FY (a small one, but still)

I've lost the count.

Wasn't  that march fiscal year 2016-17? So 2026-27 is the 10th?

Damn, you're right, i run out of fingers trying to count it.

Anyway, 10th full FY.

There's a chance the boost not being due to tomodachi release "eve "but mario movie or maybe even both.

I'm in the US.  My daughter and I went by a couple of stores that are usually not so busy on Friday and both were sold out of Tomodachi.  We ended up just ordering it from Amazon.  I think this game might end up being Switch's final 10m+ seller (worldwide).  At the very least we should expect it to outsell the 3DS version.

I know this is the Japan thread, but I think Tomodachi is going to exceed the 3DS version in sales in both Japan and everywhere else too.

Intersting.

Tomodachi oddly enough is s more popular in Europe, especially France.

The franchise expanded there with the 3DS title in its late lifetime.

Tomodachi life 565k opening, just like pokopia
Amazon pre orders proved right.
NS1 shoots up to damn 31k in tenth year, 44k for NS2.
It's a 3DS game, NS2 is extremely expensive for the target audience of the game.

NINTENDO RELEASE NS1 LITE TOMODACHI LIFE THEMED ASAP

That would be strange to me since the Switch 2 can play it as well and is a way better value purchase. I looked at how the 3DS was boosted from the last Tomodachi Life and it did get one but not that much despite coming out early in its life so I'm not expecting that significant of a boost either way.

Well… what you once called “strange” seems to be reality. There was a +50% WoW boost for NS1 sales figures with the Lite model being the most popular SKU. NS2 got slapped hard, down to 41k. You shoulda listened to me, Norion!

Also: 500k for Tomodachi Life is utterly crazy. That makes for one of the biggest launched in JP of the Switch generation.
