Have you made any thread about  sales comparison between PS4 vs PS5 sixth year?

This is going off topic here, ask me such questions in my thread, or if you want on PM.

I have such comparison in my global sales thread.

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / JP 2026 / 2026 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

PS5 vs SW2 in 2026 / Best holiday months / When will the Switch pass 160M? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX / Switch 2

Switch 2 still on fire, Fatal Frame still niche; it's a great series but it's never been particularly popular, prior entries also had modest sales.

Total hardware up more than 110% year over year.

Mario Kart World is 4 million or more in Japan, tf , it is a big sucess

I’m talking about the legs of MKWorld. OFC the game has been a success. My main focus is to see how well the $80USD price tag may impact the game now that it’s no longer bundled with NS2 systems.

Well I just bought it some days ago so +1 I guess lol

Love to hear it! It’s my personal favorite NS2 game so far, though I’m waiting for the big DLC to drop with 200cc and the intermission track fiasco sorted out. Once that’s done, then I’ll be sinking hundreds of hour into it.

Hope you have fun with it. Let me know your thoughts.:)

MarioKart World isn't doing as hot as I would be expecting... not even a year after launch and it's legs are weaker than Animal Crossing New Horizons (NSW+NS2 Edition) and MTFever. Perhaps this is just an off week? Since Pokopia is the big game moving units this week, and not MarioKart.

Monster Hunter Spinoff FW Comparison:

  • Diary (PSP) - 280,581
  • Stories (3DS) - 154,390
  • Stories 2 (NS) - 137,676
  • Diary G (PSP) - 102,963
  • Stories 3 (NS2+PS5) - 54,906
  • Diary DX (3DS) - 52,272

Pretty disappointing results

I was going to say that you need to account for digital... but I'm not sure that'd help very much. That's disappointing.

Remember, even Pokopia had a 50% digital ratio. Expect similar for NS2 version and higher for PS5 version. It could even match Stories 2.

I'm sure it's at least close to MH Stories 2 when counting digital on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Sometimes we forget PC has grown a lot in Japan this generation, so that has to be factored in.

Pokopia had a physical shortage though. I cannot imagine many NS2 games pulling a similar ratio, especially not at launch.

Another strong week for the Switch 2 and it's already hit 1m while the Switch 1 took till the end of May to get there in 2018 so this is gonna be a great first quarter of the year for it. The Switch 1 falls under 20k again though I have no idea if it'll stay under there this time or not and man only one Switch game being in the top 10 feels weird. I wonder how long till the first top 10 with 0 happens. And the PS5 declines back to its usual sales and from this point the YoY comparisons will be way better again.
