Just as a note, I'm going to be mostly gone (again), but this time only for the next 6 to 8 weeks → probably back about mid to late April
I'm neither burnt out or have any kind of health/personal issues, just really busy with University (yeah, probably a midlife crisis thing; but I felt like heading to a greener pasture).

If I'm around, it'll just be for quips and (probably) change the Iran thread name next weekend depending on how the situation develops.
For now, have a good one. I'll see you around.

In the famous words of Samwise Gamgee: "Well, I'm back."

Hey, nice to see ya man.

Sometimes a break is needed, I've taken absences from the site myself in the past.

Hope you're doing okay.

I was reminded of RolStoppable today upon running into a VGChartz user with a Kim Possible collage in their signature. Upon glancing at his profile again, I had a crazy realization: Rol’s last words were on a thread I started! [Link.] Wow what an honor that is!!

But yeah I am about 95% confident the actual person behind his account either died or forgot his VGChartz password (and is unable to recover his account b/c he lost access to the email he used to make his profile back in 2006).

He could create another account and say that he is Rol. Which would leave the "dead" possibility more likely... But I don't think so. I think he just drifted away from this website

I was afraid something bad happened after just a few weeks. Needless to say, i havent come across anything that has abated those fears. I dont have a good feeling, honestly. There should be a rol mural somewhere on this site if it turns out to be the case (hope it isnt)

I hope he comes back and I hope he is well. Not sure if any of you guys know, but RolStoppable and I created our VGChartz accounts on the very same day, March 5th, 2007. Actually I'm pretty sure our accounts were created right after another.

We did some pretty cool things here during the early VGChartz days. I remember opening a thread with the title "I beat RolStoppable at Mario Kart Wii". Rol was known as a great MKW player back then and in the thread I bragged about beating him and nobody could believe it. Of course, we had devised it as a joke (I never actually beat him at the game) and Rol on purpose acted like he was totally mad about me beating him, which made everyone believe it was true, lol.

He was also one of the earliest people to actually understand Nintendo's strategy with the Wii and DS. Back in 2007 there weren't many users who really understood what Nintendo was going for with their consoles. So we often argued side-by-side. I was a writer for this site back then and even back then he was the unofficial leader of the forums. Good times.

I regret that during those days I was too shy and socially awkward to get to know people better on this forum. Not sure why I'm writing all of this, but I really hope he is doing well. It feels like we're going back a long way, even though I was probably just a random stranger on a forum to him he sometimes exchanged private messages with.

He married Kim Possible and lived happily ever after. I hope anyway.

Anyone got him on friends list for wellness check? Perhaps a Mario Kart player.

Man just reading these responses… it would be terrible if it came out he actually did die. Hope all is well with him.

Wow, I come back for the first time since like November, and this is the first thing I see? End of an era if he really is gone for good. So many great users from this site now gone.

Just to name a few great ones that I really miss.

By the way, I don't know what happened to this site in 2017, but it seems like half my friends list stopped coming to the site around then. Wonder if that was around one of the many redesigns this site had.
