Forums - Sales - Nintendo Quarterly Sales Update: Switch 2 at 10.36m, Switch 1 at 154.01m

Pretty insane that this is all without the Switch ever getting a permanent price drop. With that said 160m will be difficult.

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

Best holiday months / When will the Switch pass 160M? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX / Switch 2

With this many sales in a quarter with only one big game, I think we can put to rest any notion that Switch 2 is in trouble or losing steam.

All that online FUD about it being overpriced/Nintendo's Xbox One moment/etc turned out to count for nothing in the end.

Yeah the complaints about the price of the Switch 2 were quite silly considering that £349/$399 was the realistic minimum for it. Its price will hurt it somewhat in that less households will get multiple compared to the Switch 1 but it won't be a big deal especially once a cheaper model comes out.

Mario Kart World was the Best Selling game of Q2

Nintendo's earnings release for the 2nd quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31st 2026 has been published, this covers the three month period from July 1st to September 30th 2025. As expected, despite having lower peak sales the Switch will surpass the DS due to it's longevity.

Nintendo DS versus Nintendo Switch

How could this be? There is still plenty of unsold stock in [city].

It is clearly just too front loaded and will quickly drop off after [month].

Early adopters are not price sensitive and after [number in millions], momentum will stop.

If Switch 2 reaches 20M units shipped this FY, i wonder how grifters will try to keep the ''Switch 2 is bombing and is a new Wii U'' narrative going, i imagine they will soon shift to a ''Nintendo is lying about its sales figures'' narrative to try to keep their gravy train going for a bit longer.

By the way, if the current regional ratio of sales for the Switch 2 holds true for the rest of the FY, this will be the sales split for the different markets this FY (19M units)

The Americas: 6,65M units.

Europe: 4,40M units.

Japan: 4,29M units.

Other: 3,54M units.

Very impressive how they can produce so many Switch 2 so fast.

Damn that MKW attach rate lol.

Good numbers!

Continue with a working formula, b/c, etc - imagine that.
