Forums - Sales - Famitsu Sales: Weeks 32+33, 2025 (Aug 04 - Aug 17)

It took me way too long to notice that these numbers were for two weeks which really confused me. With that now in mind the Switch 2 keeps trucking on and the Switch 1 and PS5 are doing a bit better than usual probably due to Obon. Also the Switch 1 has now hit its final million YTD since it's not selling that much in 2026. It's kinda wild how strong the first half of 2021 was for it with it reaching that in just 7 weeks.

Around the Network

King Switch 2 100 k weekly for the rest of the year .. Nintendo better have stock!!!

When the exact numbers for each of the two weeks comes out ?

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

Best holiday months / When will the Switch pass 160M? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX / Switch 2

So a weekly average of about 90k for Switch 2, 18k for Switch 1, and 8.5k for PS5.

Demon Slayer doing quite well, as is Tamagotchi.

It hasn't stabilized itself yet but the Switch average in the weakest portion of the year is definitely the best sign to what could a fire Fall/Holiday season in terms of sales.

Also I see Kirby and the Forgotten Land picking up again in the charts. Will prolly rise higher when we get to the DLC/Switch 2 Edition release !

Switch Friend Code : 3905-6122-2909

The fact Nintendo can consistently have over half the chart be their own published games is insane.

If it keeps going at this rate Switch 2 is going to hit 2 million sold around 14 weeks on the market, wich would be two weeks earlier than Switch 1 in it‘s peak year of 2021 (16 weeks to 2 million). Unless it‘s unprecedentedly frontloaded, its going to be massive in japan.

You mean, like the Wii?

The Wii sold around 12.7M consoles in Japan, of which 7.7M have been sold by the end of the second year on the market. Granted, the Wii was frontloaded everywhere, but nowhere to the degree as it had been in Japan. The other regions had another great year and an okay year after that, while in Japan they went directly to meh for two years and then very bad from there on out.
