(..)

That means, literally, that PS5 physical games got 1% of the gaming market, DURING THE XMAS SEASON.

(..)

Now now, no need to exaggerate...

It's got 1.03%.

I can see someone in Sony saying that.

Hardware numbers for both weeks combined:

Switch passes 35M!

Switch: SW-3707-5131-3911
XBox: Kenjabish

Sony messed up forgetting where they started. Losing the Japanese market will have long term effects, and PS5 is going to look a lot less appealing when Switch 2 is around and the argument of graphics won't be too much of a thing between the two consoles. Switch 2 will be a lot more of an attractive buy. Nintendo took a gamble combining their console and handheld divisions, and had a disadvantage graphically for doing so for a while- but as the gap closes, Switch 2 will compete and elevate Nintendo.

Switch being up YoY while the Switch 2 rumors are running around... yea i fear the Switch still has a lot of gas in the tank. Nintendo could keep it on the market a bit for a lower price for a year.

I'd say Switch sales were abnormal low last year, because it seemed that a lot of people got a Switch with Zelda during summer.

Numbers don't make sense to me. PS5 or Switch. Why are they so close to last years numbers? The PS5 is more expensive than last year and I find it hard to believe that sales for Switch are going up in its final months before Switch 2. I am not privy to whats going on in Japan but my gut tells me that something isn't right. Neither console should be up. Is the PS5 on sale? And for Xbox... well, its sales nearly doubled but that still seems more realistic than the other two lol.

Underestimate the casual crowd at your own peril.

Is it known when we will get the split data ?

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

Polls: When will the Switch: Outsell the DS? / Outsell the PS2? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX

Nice to see Switch passing 35m which I've been calling the floor for a long time. Still going really strong so will be interesting to see how far it can make it.

And with that, I believe the Switch is now up YoY for the entire month of December.
Wow… Just wow.
