Forums - Sales - December 2025 Circana (NPD) Thread + Predictions

December 2025 Circana (NPD) covers the five-week period from November 30 to January 3 and will be released on January 22.

Since Circana (NPD) leaks don't happen nearly as often as it used to and hardware revenue is something we do get, be sure to include revenue in your predictions.

Feel free to also predict what you think the top software games will be for the month.

Example prediction:

[Total Hardware Revenue]

  1. [#1 selling console] XXX,000
  2. [#2 selling console] XXX,000
  3. [#3 selling console] XXX,000
  4. [#4 selling console] XXX,000

Around the Network

1. PS5 900k
2. NS2 750k
3. XS 150k
4. NS 90k

I expect the switch 2 discount, along with the ps5 sale to keep them close. I also see the ps5 being down YOY since it was down YOY in November, but I may be wrong since the discount lasted the entire month not just a couple of weeks compared to Nov.

I will just copy and paste my predictions from the November thread, as that one was way worse than expected, that's why now my previous expected numbers for November go to December.

  1. NS2 - 1.5M
  2. PS5 - 1M
  3. NS - 200K
  4. XS - 150K

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

Best holiday months / When will the Switch pass 160M? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX / Switch 2

Switch 2- 1.4 million
PS5- 1.2 million
Switch- 150k
Xbox- 120k

PS5 - 900K
NS2 - 490K
NS- 160K
XS - 80K

Around the Network

NS2 - 1,25K
PS5 - 1,05K
NS - 140K
XS - 220K

PS5 - 950K
NS2 - 650K
XSX- 260K
NS - 90K

What a wild year. Not sure what to expect. I do expect PS5 to take it based on the never-ending sale and looking at current charts on GameStop. I also expect sales to be higher than in November due largely in part to the Nintendo Switch price cut. Total sales may once again be down compared to last december. This is mostly driven by the total collapse of the Xbox who doesn't have any sales to speak of. That and a bad economy.

Ps5 800k
Ns2 750k
Ns. 150k
Xsx 250k

December 2025 Circana

Just a quick question.  When ever I go to update my monthly numbers for the Switch 2 global totals, I notice that the numbers keep changing on the archived hardware chart.  All the way back to June after the November numbers got added in.  Are these still adjustments that are being made?

It seems like every month, a large amount of the older data is being altered.
