Forums - Sales - March 2026 VGChartz Estimates Thread

Switch 2 is really on fire now. It's selling well above the PS5 this month (worldwide) and this is before the price increase takes effect.

Ns2 must have hit 20m shipped, right?

I would think so. Though we will know for sure on May 8 when Nintendo's earnings report drops.

The power of Pokopia; goes to show exclusives do matter.
Even in Europe, which is Sony land, Switch 2 managed to pull way head of PS5; no small feat.

I severely underestimated Pokémon Pokopia. Yes, Pokémon is huge, but side games in the series have never been a big seller on console. Mainline entries tend to sell well over 10 million with several selling over 20 million. Unless I've missed something the best-selling side game was Pokémon Stadium on the N64 with 5.46M sold with most selling in the 1 to 2 million range.

You're not alone there, I feel like most folks here and in the enthusiast gamer sphere underestimated Pokopia; in the thread I made about predicting its lifetime sales most estimates were low.

It definitely has the potential to sell on par with mainline Pokémon entries. I should have known Animal Crossing + Pokémon = big seller. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the 2nd best-selling Switch game with nearly 50 million sold lifetime and the best-selling Pokémon games on Switch have sold 28 million and 27 million each.

It's an innovative with some depth spin off, it's been a long for Pokémon franchise.

Ds had the most.

Pokopia really gave one hell of a boost making the Switch 2 have an amazing March. Its March being higher than November is not something I saw coming cause of that it ends its first quarter of this year on an extremely strong note. The PS5 sold over a million but a chunk of those sales will have been from people buying a PS5 ahead of the price increase and even with that it was still slightly down YoY and not much higher than the equivalent month for the PS4.

Interestingly the PS5 got more of a boost in the Americas than Europe. It's a good month for it but April will be worse though the price increase won't have fully taken affect everywhere right away so May should see a big drop off so after April the PS5 shouldn't get another good month till November. And it's business as usual for the Xbox Series and Switch 1. Both look like they could do a tad better than expected this year though that doesn't really matter when they're both near death.

Who will die first ? That reminds me of the two snails that raced each other in the charts from close to decade ago, 3DS vs PSP.
