[Weekly Software & Hardware Sales] "Hyrule Warriors: Legends of Zelda" takes the top spot! "Pokémon Legends ZA" and "Dragon Quest 1 & 2 Remake" also perform well, and "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" resurfaces with the release of the Switch 2 version [11/3-11/9]

Famitsu's sales rankings. This time, we bring you a summary of estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from November 3rd to November 9th, 2025 in Japan.

Developed by Koei Tecmo Games' AAA studio in collaboration with Nintendo's Zelda team, Zelda Musou: Chronicles of the Sealed War was released. This action game depicts the ancient "Sealed War" that was told in fragments in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and has sold 73,183 units, taking the top spot.

Coming in second and fifth place are the latest titles in the Pokemon Legends series, Pokemon Legends ZA and Pokemon Legends ZA Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Coming in fourth, sixth, and seventh place are the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 versions of Dragon Quest I & II, which are also showing strong sales.

Among them, one game worth noting is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which rose from 13th place last week to 9th place, returning to the top 10. It has been announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be released on January 15, 2025. Owners of the Switch version will be able to play the Switch 2 version by purchasing an upgrade pass (550 yen tax included). It seems that many users decided to purchase the game after the announcement.

I'm curious to know if the new PS5 Digital Edition can increase PS5 sales in Japan. Does anyone know which week it will be available?

nov 21st is the launch of the $350 ps5. It is basically receiving a $100+ dollar price cut. I believe it can boost the console above 20k. They should have dropped a MH wilds bundle to make it more enticing at the same $350.

Yes I would really like to see someone give Nintendo competition in Japan.   Its the only country in the world with such a stark disparity.  Competition is needed there badly.

PS5 selling less than 1/10 what it was selling last year. The japan only PS5 Digital won't save it, but it is something to look for.

They are paying for their greed, great to see.

Didn't even realize it was that bad until you pointed it out. Hopefully this cheaper digital model will bring it at least above 20k weekly, only sad thing is these charts wont reflect the software increase for this new cheaper model.

It's not so bad .. Last year finished at 1.5M there, this year it has a chance of reaching 900 to 1M (with help from the 350$ model).

This particular week was the launch of the PS5 Pro, or the week after that, that's because it was at almost 90k. For most of the weeks in 2024, the PS5 did between 20 and 30k.
