[Weekly software and hardware sales figures] Capcom Fighting Collection 2 takes the top spot! Both the Switch and PS4 versions are in the top 10. Tokimeki Memorial ~forever with you~ Emotional also does well [5/12-5/18]

Sales ranking announced by Famitsu. This time we bring you a summary of the estimated weekly sales of game software and hardware from May 12th to May 18th, 2025 in Japan.

The second collection title of Capcom's fighting games, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 has been released. It includes 3D fighting titles such as CAPCOM vs. SNK 2 MILLIONAIRE FIGHTING 2001, a collaboration title with SNK, Moero! Justice Academy and Power Stone. This is an irresistible lineup for fans with the Nintendo Switch version ranked first and the PlayStation 4 version ranked sixth. The cumulative sales of both versions is 11,985 units.

Next in 7th place is the Nintendo Switch remaster of Tokimeki Memorial ~forever with you~ Emotional, a landmark love simulation game that dropped from last week's top spot.

In 9th place is the French turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 which has been on the market for a month and both titles are expected to continue to sell well in the future.

Switch hardware seems to be back to around what it's new baseline is which is around 25k. XBox X|S had a good week. PS5 is falling hard.

The evergreens in the software chart look like they are shifting around. Mario Party Jamboree and Minecraft basically almost sold the same amount. Animal Crossing remains another strong reason to get a Switch 1 as Mario Kart gradually moves down in the charts. The #10 slot sold under 2k, so it looks like software sales are kind of weak right now in general.

Only a few weeks to go...

Seems the anticipation of the Switch 2 is eating into the sales of the PS5 more then the Switch itself.

The world belongs to you-Pan America

Jamboree's legs are really something, even 7 months on its still near the top of the charts week after week.

Meanwhile, Switch is outselling PS5 by almost 4:1 on the eve of its replacement. Things could get really hairy for PS5 after June 5th.

it’s crazy how quickly a price hike can ruin a system. PS5 was tracking ahead of PS4 & PS3 launch aligned; now, PS5 might be stuck with legs comparable to XBSXS. There is no hope for this system once NSW2 releases. They need to cut their losses and just decrease the price…there’s no way Sony’s making more money from a dead system selling at a higher price.

Yep, if that trend doesn't change somehow, I can't see the PS5 doing more than 7.5M lifetime.
