​[Weekly software and hardware sales figures] "Donkey Kong Returns HD" tops the charts for two consecutive weeks! The popular action RPG "Ender Magnolia" Switch and PS5 versions also make it into the top 10 [1/20-1/26]​

Sales ranking announced by Famitsu. Here is a summary of the estimated weekly sales figures for video games and hardware from January 20th to January 26th, 2025.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, the HD remaster of the title released for the Wii in 2010 with many additional courses and new easy-to-play features, continues to sell well. It sold 35,256 units, taking the top spot for the second week in a row.

Also ranking in their second week since release are Dynasty Warriors: Origins in third place and Tales of Graces F Remaster in seventh place , both showing continued sales.

Also among them (one that is worth paying attention to) is the first appearance of ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist. This title is an exploration-type 2D action RPG that is the sequel to ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights which recorded a total of 1.5 million units sold worldwide (numbers announced by the manufacturer).

The Nintendo Switch version ranked 4th and the PlayStation 5 version ranked 8th with the total sales of both versions being 14,876 units.

Very good hold from the Switch for now.
PS5 baseline 10-12k confirmed.
XBSX is okayish for its level in Japan

PS5 already 100K behind last year. I do not see it crack 1 million this year if there is no price drop of some kind. At this rate the Switch1 will probably outsell it, despite Switch2 launch.

Of course PS5 will crack 1 million! Switch 1 could outsell it, Switch 2 no question.
Switch: Very good for a handheld soon entering it's 9th year and about to be replaced.
PS5: not doing well but at least mentionable
XboxSeries: Full catatrophy lets face it!
PS4: As it was discontinued in March 2022 and WW total sales already reached quite exactly 117,2 million, they should stop tracking it as well as us!

Pleasantly surprised to see Ender Magnolia appear in the top 10!

At this point I'm starting to worry if this becomes the worst year of PS5 so far, even behind the very supply constrained 2021...

Insane the Switch is still up Y/o/Y even with the Switch 2 announcement!

I sold my Switch to my cousin a month ago because I was waiting for Nintendo Switch 2. But with the Switch 2 announcement, I just want my Switch back. I miss it (I practically only played on my Switch and I needed a small break).

So I can understand why the Switch sales didn't drop, a lot of people are still excited about getting a Switch.

I'm curious as to what effect Monster Hunter has on PS5 sales at this point. If the game is not coming to Switch 2, then there's a chance that the PS5 could top 1m for the year. But if it is, I think this will be the PS5's lowest full year yet in the region.

Either way, I do expect Switch 1 to outsell the PS5 again this year in Japan.
