What's up with PS5 this week? Looks to be up more than usual.

Obviously holidays.

Switch getting back to 80k just as I expected. It will probably have similar weeks till end of December.

PS5 can reach 1.5M for the year.

Lol the post directly above you explains why PS5 was up a bit more than usual: They remove that stupid price hike for the week of Black Friday. Not just simply the holidays kicking in. That being said, with the price back at its unusually high level again as of next week, NSW sales should move right back up to 90-100k. And then you, XtremeBG, will see that, yes, I -- the great FireBush03 -- will have accurately projected the NSW JP sales for holiday 2024 (which I was able to do via a very thorough investigation of vibes...very serious stuff, I know).

in a normal world with normal price movement, that would be the case for the PS5. Sadly you may be right. But then again the holidays will get even more closer, and it still has some chance of maintaining those numbers because it's holidays, and even though it's price hiked, it's should still has the boost. Originally you said in a comment on a post 450k-500k for December for the Switch. Having 3 weeks left, and leaving only 3 weeks to go, it may end up under that, and so the great Firebush03 may end up wrong, even though the prediction was for 5 weeks month instead of 4.

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 140M+ Club Chart

Polls: When will the Switch: Outsell the DS? / Outsell the PS2? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX

yeah, that 450-500k figures was based on 5w. After realizing it was 4w, I adjusted down to 380-430k (as can be seen in my og comment on that post). In any case, "the great FireBush03 may end up wrong" sounds like propoganda from RolStoppable (who famously has tried to ban me from this site). It is impossible for my expert analysis to ever be wrong!

Lol, why ban you ? you contribute to the atmosphere around here. I hope you are right.

PS5 is going to struggle HARD when Switch 2 arrives and the line in graphic quality is notable between Switch 1 and 2, and much more aligned with Series S/X/PS5.

Holiday season has definitely kicked in with basically all software titles up WoW. Super Mario Party Jamboree and DQ3 both are showing really solid legs. Switch weekly hardware sales are even slightly up compared to this week last year. Looks like Switch hardware will end the year slightly above 3M while PS5 will end slightly above 1.5M.

Super Mario Party Jamboree doing better than Mario Superstars in a similar timespan at the end of the console lifespan is kinda big for what I expected previously.

Hardware being flat YoY so far is also pretty good considering we're less than a year away from the replacement(most likely) !

Also M&L showing consistent legs while Dragon Quest III HD-2D finally getting the physical shipping from SE also helps a lot !

Yearly Famitsu Sales for Switch (rounded to nearest 1k), looking like it will finish at around 3.1 million for 2024.

Good week for the PS5 with it surprisingly being up YoY. With that notable sale having ended the next week might be lower though it will still likely reach 1.5m for the year which potentially looked of reach back in October. The Switch is up compared to the 49th week last year but the 50th week that year is more aligned date wise so it's actually starting December down so that previous week might've just been a one off. It's only down somewhat though and is for sure reaching 3m which is very impressive for its age.

I dunno if the Switch 2 will have that much impact on it. The PS5 will likely be about 4.5 years old when it comes out and will have sold over 60% of its final sales total already so it seems too late for its trajectory to be changed in a major way.

Having eight consistent years of selling 3M+ per year is really incredible.
