Why?

What would you like to infer about the quote?
I don't see you trying to talk about the future. No one knows about the future, but that doesn't mean we can't talk about it.

Look at my previous post to you:

you’re trying to read into things he didn’t say rather than just reading what was said. We are working on titles for the upcoming fiscal year=/=we are not working on titles after the upcoming fiscal year.

You took a statement about the upcoming fiscal year and extrapolated that to assume things about future fiscal years which is extremely flawed logic.

It’s the equivalent of me telling you it’s going to rain tomorrow and then you turn around and tell other people I said it’s not going to rain two days from now.

Ok, so when Nintendo makes a business forecast for hardware, they are extrapolating data from the past and assuming that their console will continue sell to meet their forecast. Isn't that flawed logic as well? Or when we talk about the Switch surpassing the PS2, isn't that all an extrapolation of the past to assume the future?

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 160 million (was 120 million, then 140 million, then 150 million)

PS5: 130 million (was 124 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 54 million (was 60 million, then 57 million)

But those aren’t the same thing at all…….you aren’t taking past data and applying it to the future, you are taking a statement and using poor reading comprehension to assume things they didn’t say. It’s not comparable in any way, I really don’t understand how this is so difficult for you to grasp.

Look at my analogy again, if I tell you it’s going to rain tomorrow does that mean I’m telling you it’s not going to rain two days from now? This is exactly what you are doing.

Very good progress for Switch. Less of a drop in 2023 than I expected. Congrats!
Let's see this year how is gonna be. This year will be the difference maker in the road to 160M. This year and Nintendo's moves will be make it or brake it for the Switch 1, to help it or not to help the system to be able to reach PS2 numbers. By the end of the year we should have no doubts on this question, cuz the real intentions of Nintendo about how to handle the transition and it's life and support after it's successor (and it's successor too) should be out.

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 140M+ Club Chart

Polls: When will the Switch: Outsell the DS? / Outsell the PS2? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX

These scenarios are nothing alike. This is going into strawman territory here.

They simply stated into their forecasts that they have planned software releases into the coming fiscal year. It doesn't state there's nothing coming after March 31st 2025 forcibly.

However, there's a possible chance that we do not see any further 1st party releases after this next fiscal year and the release of the next system. But they haven't addressed it yet.

Pokemon Stadium has been knocked out the top 100 by Super Mario Bros. Wonder which enters at #55.

JFC, Breath of the Wild has sold more than Pokemon Red/Green/Blue now!
Imagine going back in time and telling people in 2015 that this would happen, you'd be ridiculed. Yet here we are.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 23 million more copies than Mario Kart Wii ... lol (and counting). That's wild.

BOTW over all of NSMB DS and NSMB Wii and Pokemon RGB is crazy too.

Now the big question is: Can MK8DX have the legs (wheels?) to kick Wii Sports from the throne?

Also, I remember getting laughted off for thinking RFA could sell anywhere near Wii Fit, with most expecting maybe 3M tops. While still 5M short of Wii Fit, it came still much further than anyone dared to hope it would reach
