[Weekly Software & Hardware Sales] Pokémon Pokopia takes the top spot for the 5th consecutive week! PS5 cumulative domestic sales exceed 7.5 million units, and Switch 2 surpasses 5 million units [March 30th - April 5th]

Famitsu's sales rankings. This time, we bring you a summary of estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from March 30th to April 5th, 2026 in Japan.

In First place remains the slow-life sandbox game in which Ditto, transformed into a human, builds a new life with Pokémon. Pokopia continued it's strong sales this week by selling 45,484 units, securing the top spot for the fifth consecutive week.

In 3rd place is Minecraft, which has resurfaced from 12th place last week.

Next in it's second week of release is Mega Man Star Force Perfect Collection and then Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Bellabel Park. They ranked in 4th and 7th respectively.

In 5th and 10th place is Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, it has made a comeback from outside the top 10 and both are showing steady sales.

Meanwhile, looking at hardware the cumulative domestic sales of the PlayStation 5 (including the Digital Edition and Pro) finally surpassed 7.5 million units this week and the Nintendo Switch 2 has also hit a big milestone by surpassing 5 million units.

Some milestones, Switch 2 passes 5M lifetime in Japan and PS5 passes 7.5M lifetime.

Xbox doing a lot better than last year, but will the better weeks continue ?

With people talking about the soon release of PS6, it really is time to retire the PS4 in every way.

Pokopia has another great hold after having a fairly large drop last week.  Just looking at the top 10 software, it seems like Pokopia has also had a side effect of boosting sales in Pokemon and Animal Crossing.
