My guess is PS5 will pass the Xbox 360 and PS3 this holiday season and the Wii by summer next year

I'd guess about a year for the PS5 to pass the Wii. The PS5's on about the same pace as last year which was a little more than 19.5 million and its 19.1 million behind. This estimate does depend a lot on a holiday season on par with last year and Europe counteracting the slowing of the PS5 in both the States and Japan.

Well deserved!

PS5 will have no problem passing the Xbox 360 and PS3 by the end of the year as the PS5 is likely to top 90 million depending on how well sales hold up compared to last year.

I would not be surprised if it does like 10m+ in november & december.
With them doing the crazy price cut, and ram prices exploding.... its just alot of value on offer there, getting a cheap PS5 is going to be the best way to play for alot of people.
Also with GTA comeing in 2026, people might have been holding off, and think "now is the time to get it" in anticipation.

So in late Jan. 2026 , it should be like 95m+.

That's a dual takedown.
Next up in line for dual takedown-
360 and PS3
Wii and PS1
PS4 and GB

And dare i say..... DS and Switch.

That would be triple ..

DS, Switch and PS2. Switch should end around 157-158M, which will be almost equal distance from the DS and the PS2. Therefore - triple.

However at that point (if it reaches there at all) PS5 should be moving very slow, and the takedowns won't be at once, let alone a gap of 6M+ at once.

Which means just single at a time.

That's a very optimistic view of the PS5 future.
Personally don't think it reaches that far.

Highest I see it going atm, is like  ~130m.

It could surpass Wii in Summer 2026. That'll be closer to GTA VI's launch than we are right now, and Xbox hardware has not been meaningful competition to PlayStation even in the US and UK since around Holiday 2021.
