Forums - Sales - Which system will sell more in 2026: Switch 2 or PS5? (New poll)

Should I change it to Switch 2 vs everything else combined?

Yes 2 66.67%

No 1 33.33%

Total:3

After the annoucement of the death of physical on Playstation, do you guys see it having any difference? People buying it to have access to the last physical Playstation or people refusing to buy it and entering the PS ecosystem for not having physical on the long run?

I can see it hurting sales a little, but not hugely as most of those who care strongly about this stuff will have already bought a PS5 years ago.

I doubt it will compel anyone to jump in who hasn't already either.

The big issue right now is price.

At this point the thread has to become Switch 2 vs all others combined, who will sell more in 2026.

And Switch 2 still leads, with some 600k ..

I mean, Xbox has been irrelevant in terms of sales for years now and Switch 1 is the equivalent of a senior citizen in a retirement home, so yeah.

As of right now, without knowing what actual supply look like, I predict that the PS5 and Switch 2 will wind up being effectively tied for 2026.

It's getting really hard for me to see how PS5 will turn the tides, and by the end of the year they will end tied, or PS5 ahead.

GTA 6 has to have effect like the match Argentina - Egypt after the 79th minute.

GTA VI will essentially have to pull a miracle to make this happen.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I mean Nintendo is dominating PR at the moment. And for the first time in a while, Playstation is getting more (deserved) mass-hate than Xbox lol. Couple that with the current trajectory, and it's easy to see Switch 2 dominating this year despite GTA6. However...

If Nintendo decides to adjust up their September price hike by another $50, then the Switch 2 may have a really poor Q4. I just don't think it'll be poor enough to outweigh FOMO sales from the previous months, nor do I see GTA6 cancelling out PS5's poor performance all year. We all saw how insane Switch 2 sales got in Japan prior to the price hike, and we might see something similar in the west before September.
