I don't care about the console wars, I hardly pay attention to console sales. What I do care about is people being dicks to staff like Trunks, I believe he is fair and does as good of a job as he can with the information he has available on a bare minimum wage, without Trunks we would have no estimates at all, nor would we have any news articles, it is fair to say he is a vital reason the site is still alive. He never gets confrontational with anyone and yet somehow I see multiple people even on this website being a dick towards him, it is very annoying.

By all means, discuss the estimates and respectfully debate them, provide new information when available and Trunks will listen, but don't be a dick about it, if you want to be a dick about it then feel free to go and create your own estimation website. Now I didn't have to respond like this, I'd strongly suggest that you move on and reflect, which you should have done after my 1st post.

They can get out of 2025 with 3M and then do a 2M for 2026, the year which will probably announce and launch the successor. It is low, but it's still something. They will end somewhere around 36-38M and that's it. I bet they will end the production of XBSX as soon as the successor launch, just like XB1 and the OG XBOX.

I think people are taking too many liberties with these numbers, there really is nothing concrete to be concluded from either side. I kind of suspect the Series XS is closer to 30m but I have absolutely no solid proof. If I were to guess I would probably assume the error occurred when Xbox revealed the 21m at that conference in 2023. At the time the number was concluded to be a sell-through number up to March 31st, and I’d probably guess that was actually a shipped number. That would account for maybe around 1m units(no idea what Xbox gap between shipped and sold is), and then subsequent numbers would all be slightly higher since they are mostly based on percentage changes from the previous year.

However, Trunks made a good point about using US sales as a percentage of overall sales, and since that number is quite consistent I would be quite reluctant to change the number greatly from that ~50% baseline without solid proof.

It’s all still just guessing though. The AMD number is too vague to really say anything for certain.

Moderators often post in threads to make warnings due to a users behaviour, so yes, I am using my Moderator status to tell you to stop being an ass towards a member of staff, if you don't want to be insulted then don't be an ass. I made a indirect post to tell people to stop being asses, I didn't directly respond to you but clearly you realised it was about you, perhaps you already knew you was being an ass, which resulted in you responding to me, if you simply took it on the chin then we wouldn't be having this detour conversation.

Given your responses, I'm pretty sure a private message would have gone nowhere except result in more defensiveness except privately and instead of apologising in response to my post, you've instead opted to become extremely defensive, and given you didn't respond to my question, I will assume the second quote was also a dig at Trunks/VGChartz.

Often I decide to instead of moderating people, give them a bit of leniency and make in-thread posts instead to address the issue, leaving no moderator record on the profile, I will simply to tell people to knock their behaviour off, but it seems like some, like yourself, would rather a moderation, I could have easily booted you from the thread instead, is that what you'd prefer? Or do you want to suck it up and move on?

I'd also advise the company behind this site to give you proper guidelines about how to moderate the forums but I guess that having someone working for free you can't expect even a monkey doing the job. My best guess is that free labor is appreciated over here even if it's like yours being a fanboy and warring with the users.

Mod Note - You were being an asshole to a member of Staff (Trunks), the initial Mod comment (by myself) didn't even mention you by name, or directly respond to you, it was a general note about peoples behaviour (which yes, was prompted by yourself). You took issue with the post, likely because you realised it was about you, because you knew your behaviour was shit, I then gave you multiple chances to leave it and move on.

You couldn't even apologise to Trunks, let alone simply move on from the issue, the thread wouldn't be dragged off-topic if you simply accepted the warning and reflected on your behaviour. Instead you become incredibly defensive and still carry on. I tried to not resort to moderation, I was well within my right to ban you from the thread from the start without even giving you a chance. No remorse, no sorry, only angry defensiveness. This will inform me next time you're an asshole to a member of staff, no more 2nd or 3rd chances, it'll be straight to a regular ban. Tried to give you a chance, you blew it.

Since you decided to be a trolling smart-ass and edit the mod note out of your comment, and upon discussion with the Head Moderator, you have just earnt yourself an actual ban. Let me just say, if you made the above post to any other Mod, I would have already banned you in an instant but since you made it to me, and I am involved in the debate, I usually opt to let cases like that slide and laugh at it. So you just walked straight into an easily avoidable ban because you decided to continue being snarky and decide to edit out official mod notes and that is where the line has been drawn.

I expect it to peak at 35M , less than xbox one, and also because of the rumors they are working on a handheld/another console, I expect they will try to release early next gen, so I actually would not be surprised to see the new xbox as early as 2026. With the system selling low numbers, they can pull a wii u and pull the plug 5-6 years into the gen.

I think the poll should be renewed, since almost everyone who wanted has voted, there is barely new votes, and the big portion of the people voted back when the thread was created almost 1 year ago. I think now the votes for "no" will be a lot more than they are now and it will be something like 75/25 % for no, then what it is now - 55/45% for yes.
