What match are you excited for at WWE Payback 2017?

Neville vs. Austin Aries ... 1 5.88%

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyat... 3 17.65%

The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro... 3 17.65%

Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jer... 4 23.53%

Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss (Raw Women's Title) 3 17.65%

Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe 1 5.88%

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman 2 11.76%

Total:17

Very refreshing to finally get a WM Main Event with no shenanigans and no bullshit.

Just a straight up 1v1 battle between two warriors that goes on until one of them runs out of gas.

Idk. I feel it would have been better if Travis Scott would have slowly walked to the ring while the word fein was repeated about 100 times.

For anyone interested, I made graph of monday night wars, as well as total viewership.

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / JP 2026 / 2026 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 2022 / 2021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

PS5 vs SW2 in 2026 / Biggest months, years and holidays / When will the Switch pass 160M? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX / Switch 2

Ted Turner has passed away. Aside from being the major figure behind WCW he also founded CNN and TBS, and basically invented the super channel and 24-hour news cycle TV, for better or worse. Both things are relatively obsolete these days with YouTube and streaming services; but from at least 1990 to 2005, these were cutting edge culture in the media. Now (again, for better or worse) streaming has taken this over.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about some things I've seen in pro-wrestling lately that have impressed me. Both AEW:

Lio Rush, the guy everyone hated a few years ago, has really come out with one of the most interesting characters in recent times.
Tomasso Ciampa vs Darby Allin (name any relation to GG Allin?) was a fantastic match. Here's a segment of the match posted by AEW:

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Backlash was a pretty good show overall but I gotta day I'm not a fanhausen. Can't put a cloning machine in segment 5 and then expect me to take segment 7 seriously.

Holy shit. Chad Gable was El Grande Americano.

Wwe ples just seem to be doing the bare minimum these days. Clash was fine. Every match was good. If you had nothing better to do it was fine. But it wasnt worth going out of your way to see.

Recent dirtsheet stories are saying that TKO management is forcing the extensive use of AI in storylines, particularly pointing to its use in the Randy Orton Cody Rhodes feud.

Normally I wouldn't put too much stock in rumors, but when I heard Pat Macafee's promo I literally thought "did they write this with AI?" It sounded like if you took internet wrestling fan's complaints about wrestling, mashed it together with some of the shoot promos we've heard over the years, and divorced it from any context of what is going on currently.

Sad news, Butcher from The Butcher and The Blade has passed away after collapsing during a match.

That was one of the teams I felt had a really good (kinda psycho) look, especially when posing with Allie “The Bunny”

Got to be in a rock band and a wrestler. Got to live two dreams. Not many people are that lucky. Hope he enjoyed it.
