Forums - Gaming - Which is your favorite console and why?

Out of all these systems listed below, which one is your favorite? Which one would you take on lonely island if there was such stipulation (assuming a TV from your choice and strong internet connection provided)? Also list the exact model/SKU of the chosen system, you would like the most and why?

SNES BABY WOOOOOOOO!!!

Total Championships: Nintendo - 4, Sony - 2, Atari - 1, Microsoft - 0, Sega - 0

LETS GO NINTENDO! *clap*clap**clap-clap-clap*

i will be keeping a tally to see which company has the most representation as people's favorite console. it wont exactly count as a championship, but it will count for something.

Snes because its the best

Excluding Switch (because that's a boring answer), I'd say GameCube. You name me anything other system with a library that competes with Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Pikmin 1 & 2, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros Melee, Star Fox Adventure, Kirby Air Ride, Animal Crossing, Mario Party 4/5/6, and so much more.

Though I will admit I do have the bias of having grown up exclusively on this system.. well, that and Wii. But I didn't like Wii quite like I did GameCube.

What is with that championship of yours by the way ? I am curious. How do you qualify them ?

a championship is basically the winner of a generation.

nintendo won a championship with the nes and snes

sony won with the ps1 and ps2

nintendo then won with the wii

then things get tricky, and i made a thread about this where everybody got all uptight about their opinions and such, but i was curious to know whether the switch fits more with an 8th gen console or a 9th gen console because i want to know which sony system they beat (ps4 or ps5). ultimately, i concluded that we still need more time to kind of look back in history and see where it fits better in terms of classification, you could make an argument either way. i think timing of release and power are the two main ingredients, so we will have to see when like ps6 and the new xbox release and how things shake out. but as for now im considering the switch the winner of generation 8. if not then it wins generation 9. either way nintendo has 4 championships.

SNES probably, the N64 in second maybe

I pick a PS5 only if it meets these requirements
1. No DualSense drift.
2. I have a 4 TB SSD (at least) and it never fails on me.
3. Little to no UI freezing, crashing, etc. Enough to be negligible.
The SKU would be Pro with a disc drive. I have the pre-Slim PS5 with a disc drive. And keep in mind PS5 plays the PS4 library, so that's one of the main reasons I'm picking it.
If PS5 can't meet the criteria, I listed then I am probably stuck between PS4 Pro and Switch 2. PS4 has a legendary library and Switch 2 plays the legendary Switch first-party games plus its own library.
