Soo... PS5 sold more in Spain for 1 week than what it sold in all of Europe for certain weeks in March and April this year. Nice!

The weird thing is that from a software selling perspective i think Switch 2 console sales outperform Switch 2 software sales in Spain. Even though the console seems to be selling decently, basically no Switch 2 game outside Mario Kart and Pokemon Legends Z-A is selling. Not even DK Bananaza has shown any legs in Spain, and Kirby and Hyrule Warriors were dead on arrival. So it seems to be the case that Spaniards are mostly playing Switch 1 updated games on their Switch 2.

But looking at the software sales its easy to see why Switch 2 is not able to keep up with PS5 this year in Spain, because no Switch 2 exclusive game has shown to have much appeal in Spain outside Mario Kart World.

Very good week for Switch 2

Expedition 33 is a evergreen in Europe. I wonder if sales will keep high after the award season

Nintendo’s done a solid job appealing to JP and NA, but their current blindspot is EU. Maybe Mario Tennis Fever can help out a bit? Or a Nintendo Switch Sports: NS2 Edition? At the moment, it’s really no surprise that the system isn’t pulling massive numbers: As you said, what is there for the Spanish to purchase? They’ve never been too focused on MarioKart, 3D platformers, Pokémon, nor Kirby— which is precisely what Nintendo has output this year lol.

The 60 euro discount for the MKW bundle really did big numbers for Switch 2.

Week 3 + 4 for 2025 are higher than 2024 for the PS5.

Good week for PS5 and Switch 2. 

PS5 is down about 9% compared to our estimates for Black Friday 2024. Switch 1 and Xbox Series are down ~80%+ year-on-year compared to our estimates. There was also no boost for Xbox Series despite it being Black Friday week. The lack of any discounts and the price increase this year have killed Xbox sales in at least mainland Europe. 

I'm expecting PS5 to be +/-10% of last year for Europe for the month of November. 

The ratio between PS5 and Xbox was 92:1. That is insane..

Also damning that Switch 1 sold like 7:1 compared to Xbox on black friday week in Spain.

Thats not funny... these kind of charts should only appear here when PS5 do insanely better than Switch 2
