Day one of course
Digital Foundry Article:
- Footage from Base PS5
- Runs a native 1440p spatially upscaled to 4k, doesn't seem to use any AI Upscaling or even TAA for some reason.
- 30fps, stable with only occasional single frame drops.
Even though it's 30fps I'm surprised the Base PS5 is able to run a game looking like this at a 1440p native resolution.

6 yr old hardware, and how many AAA games can you count that were built exclusively for the current gen and not last gen? Ps5 has only around 5 or 6. The system is not maxed out. Gta6 looks better than gta5, but it looks like a ps4 leap better. Gta5 ran on around 256 mb ram, and a cpu from 2005. Ps4 has 16 times the ram, and a much better gpu/cpu. Imagine what a gta5 from then ground up would have looked on ps4. The only thing stopping gta6 from hitting 60 fps on ps5would be ray tracing with 4k. |
PS5 only has 5 or 6 AAA games that are not on previous gen? What exactly do you count as AAA?
The world is so bright and colourful, the characters all look so different and unique, all the art and designs even the NPCs look so interesting... So WHY on earth is one of the protagonists so dull and boring man. I hope we can spice him up a little and his personality changes as you play cause jesus.
There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Good enough.

Sure they can with a billion dollar development budget and 10+ years to work on it. R* will be milking this as much if not more than GTA 5, GTA 7 will be on ps7 at the earliest. It's been 13 years since GTA 5 released.
The budget for GTA 6 is almost twice as much as that for the biggest blockbuster movies!

Stable-ish 40fps on PS5 Pro (with internal 1080p or lower PSSR'd to 4K) seems doable to me, if maybe with slight reductions like lower crowd density.
Curious how it'll run on PC handhelds, we can extrapolate Switch 2's performance from that.

To this day, the best atmosphere out of them all for me was GTA 3. Rainy, cloudy, dark, dreary... if the game was a season, it would be mid-autumn, and I think for something designed to suck you into the underbelly world of organized crime, nothing tops it. |
I can see that. But when you're gonna spend dozens of hours more than the length if GTA3 there's no point in it having that dreary tone. A mix of all would be the best and I hope to God that, that is the case with this game.

They are being as safe as possible so they don't get accused of woke.

Big budget exclusives that try to take full advantage of the ps5
