Forums - Gaming - Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look

Figured this could use its own thread. Will update with the YT link when it drops.

We'll hopefully see a good amount of official gameplay in a few hours on Netflix, then YouTube soon after that.

Discuss it below!

The big improvements I want for this are
1. controls. I was replaying RDR2 recently and the controls and input lag are really bad.
2. Better mission variety and less strict fail states. Let the player have a bit more freedom in how to tackle missions
3. Better dialogue and characters. RDR2 was a big improvement over GTA V here, I'm hoping VI is more like RDR2 for this.

The game is looking kinda woke with a boring male protagonist and unattractive females. But the graphics are pretty good, hopefully the PC version will have path traced mode and higher geometry level. I find Vice City boring and lost a bit of interest at playing the game after the reveal.

The graphics are very impressive and it looks like fun to just go around and explore and check out different activities you can do.

However the story gameplay looks really basic and dull. The story also seem very uninspired. Was never a fan of the whole Bonnie & Clyde vibe of this game.

Will check it out sometime after it gets a true physical release, but not at 80-100 bucks though.

Watched it streamed on YT and it was confirmed to be base PS5 footage. As usual, the open world and all the things you can do look impressive but I'm just not interested in the characters, missions, or story elements that they showed. The voice acting was decent but the dialogue itself was kinda meh.

Bottom line: If you're a GTA fan, I can see you looking forward to this, but as someone who isn't big on the franchise already this didn't do anything to convert me.

Looked incredible. Easily the best looking console game to date by a mile. The part where Lucia jumps off the building, the detail and draw distance was insane. All this on a base PS5 too, can’t wait to play this on my Pro.

Looking good. I really like some of the DNA brought over from RDR2 and Max Payne 3. While I'm sure you'll still get up to some crazy stuff, I hope it stays more grounded than GTAV. Cool to see it captured on base PS5. Can't wait to play it.

Visually it looks phenomenal, it feels like one of the very few AAA games that actually really pushes these systems. The gun play looks like a big improvement over RDR2 and GTAV. The main characters aren't doing much for me so far, Jason just comes across as very bland and forgettable, Lucia seems OK so far. Overall the showcase does a very poor job of actually selling the game, it just seems to randomly jump around without really showing much of interest.

Rockstar Flexing. When you have a GTA money printer you can throw so many resources at developing the next game no one else has a hope of competing.

Technically the most impressive game I've ever seen, and I think it will take years for another game to come close.
