30fps makes sense. They'll sell you the game again on next gen consoles and PC for the 60 fps and some bells and whistles.

The main characters aren't doing much for me so far, Jason just comes across as very bland and forgettable, Lucia seems OK so far. Overall the showcase does a very poor job of actually selling the game, it just seems to randomly jump around without really showing much of interest. |
kinda obvious when you consider that games push for 60 FPS on consoles this gen rather than graphics. 60 FPS version of GTA V is for next gen which shouldn't take too long and knowing Rockstar Games, you have to buy the game again to get the 60 FPS upgrade.
I will give it an extended look when they either decide to sell it on a disc, of it's on PS Plus, and I can rent it for a month. Until then, it's just another game I'm not going to get to experience.

PS5/XSX CPU probably just isn't capable of running this at 60. Considering this is probably going to be the newest GTA for 10+ years targeting 30fps on the now 6 year old hardware, allowing them to be more ambitious, was probably a good idea. Also why it's unlikely it'll end up on the Switch 2. |
6 yr old hardware, and how many AAA games can you count that were built exclusively for the current gen and not last gen? Ps5 has only around 5 or 6. The system is not maxed out.
Gta6 looks better than gta5, but it looks like a ps4 leap better. Gta5 ran on around 256 mb ram, and a cpu from 2005. Ps4 has 16 times the ram, and a much better gpu/cpu. Imagine what a gta5 from then ground up would have looked on ps4.
The only thing stopping gta6 from hitting 60 fps on ps5would be ray tracing with 4k.

Long chats about nonsense and not so serious. Parts of the dialogue are really good but no fun, the rest is really weak and like small talk. The tone is very important to me and that tone isn't here but my God, no game will reach this height of production probably ever. Maybe some linear shooters will show the goods but nothing with all of this in one package. |
To this day, the best atmosphere out of them all for me was GTA 3. Rainy, cloudy, dark, dreary... if the game was a season, it would be mid-autumn, and I think for something designed to suck you into the underbelly world of organized crime, nothing tops it.
GTA isn't something I buy but think it looks good. Nice graphics, massive inner chases and conflicts that would make world news if it really happened, and high production as ever. Regardless of if I'm getting it, look foward to seeing what it offers the industry other than high prices in the long run.
Hmm, pie.
Looks like a great holiday destination for the winter months, just driving around, kayaking, snorkeling, motor cross, sky diving. However the story looks incredibly safe and boring, probably will be clicking through most of it. An awesome looking sandbox to explore and mess around in.
Definitely hyped for the game. Graphics look impressive for an open world game with lots of exploration. Will be interesting to see if the ps5 pro will get 60fps or if this will be exclusive to the next generation.
Imho, game looks amazing.
I think Playstation studios can already make a game that looks like this, but are at least 5 years behind to make it look and play like this.
Same goes for Xbox, their tech is not far behind Playstation.
Nintendo.... Yeah, I don't think I will see anything from Nintendo looking remotely like this, not in the next 15~20 years.
Welcome to the last GTA game for the next 20 years.
Story seems to be more like GTA online kind of cringe then maybe I was one of the few who liked Trevor.
