Are they though? Mobile phone level CPU. phone/tablet level amount of RAM with similar bandwidth speeds. The only semi decent aspect of it's specs is it's GPU but that's really only because of DLSS saving it. The PS5 specs are great for the price though, and that's why it's so popular and selling so well. Gaming is technological and tech specs are not something you can ignore and hope for the best. Why do you think Sony and MS spent so much on the R&D of PS5 and Xbox series? They know how important they are and they wouldn't do it for no good reason.

You really live in your own world

Yep, don't post anything related to to the topic itself, just a comment to ridicule one individual. A lot of people in this thread have been sceptical of switch 2 but you only picked my comment? Also, comments without any relevance to the thread itself is against VGChartz terms of use.

Horribad take.

Switch 2 has fine hardware, performs as well/better than far PC handhelds that cost a lot more in a lot of cases. Of course it uses mobile components, it has to unless you want something that has 10 minutes of battery life and the size of a Game Gear (which would sell 500 units lifetime).

The Switch 2 is the first time in the modern 3D graphics era where a portable device can basically run modern generation console games. Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil 9 Requiem launching day and date with the other versions, etc. etc. already prove it that will be the tip of the iceberg.

Every system these days would love to have more killer apps early on in the product cycle. The PS5 and XBox Series S/X had jack shit for exclusives in their first year as well. Game development cycles simply mean the early part of every new game platform will be padded hard by cross-gen releases. You can't magically pull a AAA release out of your ass in 18-36 months anymore like you could in the past.

Skyrim Switch 2 version has just launched and it only runs at 30fps while even the Steamdeck (which is 3 years old) can run it at 60fps. How do you explain that? A 2011 game running at 30fps on hardware released in 2025. Bethesda is lazy or incompetent? Is Fromsoft lazy and incompetent for having to delay Elden Ring? What about Gearbox and Borderlands 4? They're incompetent and lazy too?

I can explain it, it's easy. Steamdeck has a much better CPU than Switch 2 and the CPU in Switch 2 isn't fit to be in a modern gaming device.

They are lazy as fu**. The skyrim game has been ported so many times now, that everyone is tired of that sh*t.
Its a minimal effort quick port, with no heart given to the project..... and it shows.

Yet the RDR port runs at 60FPS. Prolly lazy port

All the Batman games also run bad on every console. What to say about that ? How every other developer can remaster their games at 4k 60fps or at least 1440p 60fps, and batman games from 2009 and 2011, runs on 30 fps on only 1080p for the current gen consoles, and the Arkham Knight even runs on 900p on Xbox Series S, because someone is lazy to put fps boost and resolution boost for that matter, and make it at least 1080p 60fps.

Skyrim is a PS3 game, of course the Switch 2 can handle it, if it's a PS4 like version it should run at 60fps there.

Can't handle it at 60fps though. Skyrim may be a PS3 game but the PS3 had a CPU that was better than PS4 and Switch 2. Steamdeck can run it at 60 just fine and that has a good CPU. It's all CPU related.

So when it comes running in at 30fps (much like PS3Reload) a lot of us come to the quick conclusion that it was more likely a lazy port. How is it that ports like Sonic Cross Worlds run at a smooth 60FPS but skyrim cannot?

Skyrim is an open world and open world games are punishing on Systems with weak CPU's and slow memory bandwidth. Look at Elden ring and the struggles Fromsoft are having to get it running well on Switch 2

I agree with you that the CPU in the Switch 2 is weak and the biggest hurdle when porting games.

But skyrim ran at 30fps on Switch 1. The Switch 2 CPU is much more than double the power of the Switch 1's.

Skyrim Switch 2 Edition is lazy.

Elden Ring looks to be running just fine on NS2. Stable 30FPS from our most recent update— and the release is still not for several months (or even a year).

Though I must say, it’s shocking how much benefit-of-the-doubt you’ve chosen to grant to a Microsoft-owned studio.
