Forums - Sales - Spain sales Nov 17th-23rd 2025- PS5 outsells Switch 2 by over 4:1

Wow!

58:1 to X|S, I mean that's just brutal numbers for Redmond offices.

Uhh yeah it’s very good but why is everyone acting like Nintendo sales aren’t good in Europe.

The switch 1 is at 40M in Europe, the PS4 is sitting at 45

For Nov 18th to Nov 24th last year PS5 sold 29k so this is up a lot. It then sold 71k the next week.

PS5 sold 1.95m in Europe Nov 2024. This year could it break 2m?

With deals best than ever, and still a lot of potential in Europe, it should. If not now, then when ? This year holidays, and probably the next one, will be the strongest for Europe, if not all together combined.

Then again, the DS is at 52M, and PS2 is at over 55M. But yeah, Switch should pass the Gameboy there. it's some 800k left.

And it is the beginning of the switch 2. Yeah Europe especially UK and Spain are very Pro PlayStation but Nintendo switch 2 sales will be very good.

What if Sony decides to continue their discounts throughout December, as well?

To me it's clear as day (the current discounts) that they are reeeally wanting to reach as many people as possible with the PS5 gen, hence scrambling up their storage of RAM just in time, reportedly.

Sony must not have done that, but they did.

I'm betting that in Tokio, they want PS5 to overtake PS4. Not out of ego, but because PS5 gen is reportedly very profitable so far.

And it would be great to go into PS6 with 120, 130, maybe even 140m PS5 units sold - with big IFs, ofc, especially if hardware costs will stabilize again or if tariffs might be coming down again at some point in the future.

349€, in Europe, especially bundled with EA FC26, I mean it's just a great spot of pricing. That'd be equal to a ~299€ PS5 price. And that's just a crazy attractive price.

On PlayStation direct, it clearly says that the deals last through 19th Dec 2025.

So yeah, PS5 will continue to sell like hotcakes through most of December.

I'm pretty sure Sony has set an upper ceiling for the losses they incure with these heavy discounted hardwares. Once the sales reach that limit, the deals will be off.

Every year, almost always the last 2 weeks of December are the biggest out of all the year, (maybe some exclusions the last few years for PS, because of black friday, but yeah, they are still close). Because of that, with deals or not so big deals, the last 2 weeks of December after 19th, will also be very strong and that should simply equal the numbers, cuz otherwise they would've been the biggest ones. In other words, expect that strong sales level to continue until the first days of January.

@Geralt99

Oh, wow, I didn't know that, thanks for the info.

I wouldn't want to be in the VGChartz team's shoes right now, trying to estimate this data for November and December. ;)

I mean ... we're highly likely in for some huge Europe (and ww) PS5 numbers this year's fiscal Q3.

(Gladly though, it's become quite of a tradition that Sony is updating PS5 shipment numbers shortly before the year ends.)
