I'm surprised over a third of people think the Switch 2 won't hit 5 million this year. I suppose it's a tiny sample size.

• Data and chart for the Switch 2 has been updated and adjusted with the added numbers from My Nintendo Store. It is now tracking well ahead of the NSW '4.5M year, and having in mind the weeks till the holidays, it is very likely Switch 2 will greatly outsell that 2019 year of the Switch 1. Reaching a year in Japan on the level of the peak Switch 1 year of 6.4M is starting to look more and more like a real possibility.

Was that supposed for the Switch 2 or the OG Switch?

If for the OG Switch, then you were a bit too high I guess, I think 1.3M will be more realistic.

If for the Switch 2, then it's already past that point now.

Also PS5 will not reach that anymore, 800k seems sadly more realistic considering weekly sales have dropped to below Wii U levels now...

The Switch 1 yeah, by it I meant the Switch 2 and yeah around 1.3m could happen now considering how it's about to fall behind the PS3's 2010. For the PS5 I did significantly overestimate it since I was not expecting such a drastic fall off. I thought Monster Hunter Wilds would keep the decline from being overly big.
