Forums - Sales Discussion - October Circana (NPD) 2024 Thread + Predictions

NPD numbers are ranked by dollar sales and not copies sold.

It's even more impressive that Helldivers 2 managed to stay above COD despite being $40 vs COD's $70

That just means that Helldivers 2 copies sold is much higher than COD.

We know it sold over 15m copies.
If we say the avg price is 35$ or something.....  then its revenue is 525million+ (from just sales of the game)

If we take that and divide it by 70$, we can then know CoD sold under 7.5m copies? rough math.... ?
Does that work out?

Call of Duty will overtake it at some point, give it a few more months.

PS5 - 300K
XSX|S - 180K
NS - 150K

So I was pretty much on point. Great!

Going by Install base's estimates yeah your pretty much on point with that.

PS5: 290k+
XSX/s : 165K
Nsw : 130k

we also heard that Matt said "subscription services revenue grew by 16% on consoles, with CoD being the main driveing force for it"
(not a direct quote here, just paraphraseing).

Most of that growth has to be from gamepass.
The thing thats the kicker is that Xbox raised prices for gamepass, with it going to 20$ pr month now.
So how much of that 16% growth is just from raiseing prices?

That said I wouldn't be surprised if CoD on gamepass added like ~3m extra subscriptions for them.

Its intresting to see, if the sub gains are worth the potential lost of like ~150m renvenue in extra sales from xbox/pc sides (gamepass) (1st month).

If they actually grew like 3m subs, and get them to stay 3 months or more, it should "break even".
(dis-reguarding the costs of maintaining gamepass and the cuts to other games in it)

Ooh I looked at the NA numbers on the top page which were:

PS5: 319K
XSX/s : 181K
Nsw : 148K

Yep, I got the NA and US numbers switched. Anyway, it was pretty close.

Switch is pretty much in wind down mode in the US, Nintendo won't put up with those declines for much longer.

Final Fantasy Collection (discounted?), Hogwarts, and FC Soccer outselling Super Mario Wonder on Switch is interesting.

All systems are down YoY. WW its even ~26%. Their peak was already in 2023. PS5 and Xbox will get their sucessors in late 2027/ 2028 latest. Switch will be replaced next year. Its just up for a debate if Switch Up makes it till march or not. If not then Summer would be the next option...

Switch has some of it's best deals this November for Black Friday. Target has Switch w/ MK8 Deluxe for $225 and Switch Oled w/ MK8 Deluxe for $275. Walmart has Switch w/ MK8 Deluxe for $250.

A bit too low on Xbox and PS5 and a bit too high on Switch. Overall could be worse. Seems like being on Gamepass didnt hurt COD too much.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Stop calling Switch 2 - Switch UP. Who told you this ? Where you read the successor is called Switch Up ? What is the meaning of Switch UP ? No one is saying this "switch up" thing.
