Man.... I just don't have the bandwidth to do a good job.

Also, I realized when I participated a few years ago that I was really stretching to come up with titles that I thought deserved to be on a greatest games list.  If we were doing a top 20 or something, both from a time perspective, and a comfortability with my list perspective, I'd be much more likely to participate. But, 50 feels like work, and then I don't even feel like I have a good list when all that work is done.  So, I'mma have to pass.

If I find myself with a lot of free time one fall, I will participate again.  I like the event in theory, but I need to be able to dedicate some real time and headspace to it in order to feel like I did a good job. I just don't have that time or headspace right now. 

Remember that you can submit your whole Top 50 to mZuzek in one go and then participate as little (or as much) as you want in the discussion.

Ooh, that's a very good point. Still unlikely, mostly because I know I'm going to overthink it, and it's not helped by the same reason VAMatt mentioned, but that's actually a huge help.
