What about the PSP? Why it was left at only 76.4M shipped ? This is the second exception. The third one is VITA is not included at all.

So we don't have fully correct (to the nearest 100k) numbers for three of the consoles, one cut off by 200k, other by around 5M, and third not listed at all. While I agree that PS2 most than everything barely passed 160M (based on all the other circumstances), judging purely by the accurate data for sales on the Sony page (to the nearest 100k) it becomes 3 vs 3, when we exclude the PS2 (the obvious one in the discussion and the one we don't know exact numbers). So if we go straight by their info, it's 3 on 3, which means 50/50, if we should assume purely based on the Sony "accurate" data to the nearest 100k.

The PSP figure is incomplete because announcing it would allow people to derive the sales of the Vita which Sony does not want to disclose.

I know. I am not saying there isn't a reason for it. Still the fact remains, if we should assume purely based on the Sony "accurate" data to the nearest 100k, then the chances should be 50/50. Since only 3 of them are accurate to the nearest 100k, and the other three are either not there, or not close to the nearest 100k. We don't know on which side they have decided to put the PS2 on. As I said, I also think PS2 barely passed the 160M. But judging purely by the Sony " accurate " sales page is giving us the chances of 50/50.

hey i was just thinking though, isnt it a little convenient that its 160.0? im sorry but the whole thing still sounds made up to me. 156 is the number ill be going by. still confident itll hit 160.1 anyway, but switch will be champion in my mind as soon as it hits 156.

Is there any chance that, with the Switch approaching this gray 155M+ area, news about it possible being the most sold console make Sony to finally reveal PS2's numbers?

More likely they would reconfirm that "over 160M" than giving exact number. Exact number they will only give in my opinion, only if Switch passes 160M or come very close (like 159.5M), in order to say " it's not over yet, you need to do xxx more "
