Including the 3ds feels cruel to me. It's like the odd man out

These two had a pretty strong start, so for History I wanted to have them, but I will do like before : one graph with all 6 and one with 4.

Updated, with a new graphic "Ratio Switch/DS", which shows that the fight is still uncertain at this day.

That wasn't the final number. It was at 155mil long before it was discontinued and since Sony reported PS2 and PS3 combined numbers we'll never know where it exactly ended up at except that it most likely didn't reach 160mil since Sony would have reported that.

I will consider for now an hypothesis at "160" for my graph.

I agree with you about the final 160M however the exact numbers for the quorter have to be a little different.

First of all fiscal Q1 (april - june) is normally weak and the chances are small that the quorter will be bigger than the previous holiday quorter of 0.9 and bigger than every other quorters around it. Then the holiday quorter in this case - Q3 2012 have to be a little better or at least on par with the previous ones as it's holiday and there is some boost to it. So keeping in line with the previous quorter numbers and keeping some pattern of the sales in my opinion numbers have to be something like this:

Q1 2012 - 0.7M

Q2 2012 - 0.7M

Q3 2012 - 1M

Q4 2012 - 0.4M

For a beauty total of 160.1M (a hair over 160M, so that " over 160M " can be true).

or if you don't want to put 1M (since the previous year has been 0.9 holiday quorter then this:

Q1 2012 - 0.7

Q2 2012 - 0.8

Q3 2012 - 0.9

Q4 2012 - 0.4

I'm sorry but those numbers are very doubtful for me...

So those numbers of 2012 that Sony gave back in 2019 ( a time when PS4 was near to the 100 million mark)... but somehow a 2 genereations older machine managed to sell way more than extra 3 million more?? And Sony did not have that numbers at the time?.... Sorry but is pretty inconsistent for me

I think I have messed up with my calendar 2011 quarter numbers, I don't know anymore if this was an personal estimated split or if I had found these quarter numbers. I am not consistent with this wikipedia page (which might have been adjusted meanwhile also)
