By the middle of 2025, we have Switch 2 release, opening the 10th gen. When the next 10th will appear in the market? We will have more than 2 systems in this cycle? So many questions, but each day that pass we are closer and closer to these answers. 

So... Lets place our bets on how the scenario will unfold for the following years!

For me, it will be:
2028 PS6 and NeXtbox

With the current situation surrounding chips being as it is, there’s really no telling. My guess is that Sony will hold off on committing to a manufacturer for the PS6 chips until they are confident the manufacturer won’t “strangle” them (via an AI-induced shortage or price hike) later during the gen… so probably not until 2028 or 2029. Maybe even as late as 2030.

Gonna need chip prices to come down otherwise PS6 and XBOX is gonna be _expensive_. I predict they will move the launch date for prices to come down.

Based on previous launches:
PS1: December 3, 1994
PS2: March 4, 2000 - 63 months
PS3: November 11/17, 2006 (jp/na) - 80 months
PS4: November 2013 (na) - 84 months
PS5: November 2020 - 84 months

If we were talking normal times:
PS6: November 2027 - 84 months

With these unprecedented times with GPUs/RAM/SSDs jumping sky high in prices I predict 1 or 2 full years of delay.
So in the range of November 2028 or November 2029

But it would be sustainable to maintain the remaining 9th gen consoles for that long? They are already on their 5th year in the market. I am not that confident that GTA VI will be that big to keep healthy numbers for the following years. Its too much at stack to depend on one game

Switch 2 is a 9th gen console.
The 10th gen will arrive on November 2027 with PS6 and Xbox Prime.
