Price cuts are needed for this year to keep with the high sales.

I still don't think 2023 is the peak year since there are a lot of room to grow, especially with price cuts and more PS5 only games, the release of GTA VI will increase the sales a lot.

Compared to the PS4, the system is doing really good, a lot of people forget that the PS4 launched at $399 and by December 2016 (comparable to December 2023) the Slim version was $249.

I agree. Price cuts are needed, the system is more than 3 years old now and not only didn't decrease the price but increase it .. The PS5 Pro is what I look at first for this year that will boost sales, along with price cut for the current models as well. GTA 6 is reserved for the next year. If they are smart they can discontinue the PS5 disc drive version and cut the Digital edition to 349$ or even 299$ and sell the PS5 Pro (with disc drive) for 499$ or even 449$ and the sales will really blow. With this combination I can see the PS5 do a 25M year (keep in mind those prices announcing at likely September, so the natural sales up until then to be like for a 20-22M year and then boost the results in the fall more than normal to end with 25M year) And with GTA 6 coming in 2025, and with full year of selling PS5 at those mentioned prices and Pro model I can see the 2025 selling 25M too.

About the PS4, well yes it was cheaper however there is inflation so a 299$ and 399$ respectively are 379$ and 506$. And yes, the slim version was dropped down to 299$ from 349$, not to 249$.
