Since VGChartz is a bit behind with its number in comparison to the previous years when this kind of poll went live, the PS5 goes first because Sony provided an "over 30m" figure last week. Here are the PS5's previous years' numbers (VGC estimates):

2020: 4.27m
2021: 12.72m
2022: 13.01m+

What are your sell-through expectations for the PlayStation 5 in 2023?

The general expectation that the component shortages can be sorted out midway through the year did not come true, so the predicted figures were too high for the most part.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Around the Network

I expect a new global crisis fuelled by a ecomic crisis in Europe in the second half of 2023, so let's go with 13.5 million.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

This will be interesting.

I’ll get my popcorn.

I know the estimates for running late. But I am waiting on the Europe December report and NPD December report before doing the rest of December estimates.

Theres rumors of a new ps5 model, thats cheaper to make, makes the blu-ray drive a optional attachment type deal (so going forwards they only have 1 model).
That could have a small positive effect.
I'm gonna try aiming abit high, and going with 18m ish.

Around the Network

I'll go with around 18m assuming they're able to alleviate the pent up demand at least decently. The economic situation this year could potentially put a damper on things though.

Also it might end up reaching 14m for 2022 so the most popular option for that poll could end up being right which would be neat.

2022 Sell-through expectations

Going the same as last years poll.   16.0-17.19

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Global economic crisis this year so 12/13 millions.

34 years playing games.

I voted 18-19.9m. I'm assuming stock won't be an issue by later this year so pretty much anyone who wants one this year should be able to get one. With the Switch reaching its final years now it gives a bit of an opportunity for PS5 to shine until Nintendo's next gen launches.
