I think he meant to quote me. And apparently I wasn't sarcastic enough in my selecting of the most obvious truth for it to be seen as such. Damn shame that.
Which will sell more lifetime?
Wii U | 126 | 75.45% | |
PS Vita | 28 | 16.77% | |
It could honestly go either way | 13 | 7.78%
Total: | 167 |

Hmm good question. I'll go with the Wii U
Also see my PSV & Wii U predictions in my sig, they may seem crap now but at the time they were posted 95% of the community couldn't envisage them selling that little, particularly the wii u /promo.
My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

That's because you are too late to this site. The Vita-trouble-threads are already gone. But they existed.

I did not mean to quote you. But it isn't bias when you say those games will sell more than 1m. It is a given and a given even a sony or micro fanboy can't deny.

Dr.Vita said: Give me a reason! PS Vita will have a longer life (Sony always supports their consoles longer than Nintendo + this will be their last handheld so it will stay on the market a long time!) and it is selling as good as Wii U in January 2015 considering it is still undertracked in January 2015. 2014 shipments were also not that different. |
You say as Sony completely ceases support for the Vita. And I sincerely doubt they'll keep the Vita on the market for a long time (outside of Japan) since it's selling so poorly. Retailers won't want to waste shelf space on it.

Yeah that is what people keep telling me. Shame I didn't know about those threads before I posted haha

Well, in 20 years from now, what are the games Vita will be remembered for? GC has TP, WW, MP, SMS, MK: DD, SSBM, RE4, Pikmin PS2 has GTA III, GoW, Jak & Daxter, Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Okami Wii U has SM3DW, MK8, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, SSB4, etc. |
Persona 4: Golden, Tearaway, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, Final Fantasy X / X2 HD Remaster... This are all great games which the gaming industry loves and will be remembered in 20 years.
SM3DW, MK8, Pikmin 3 and SSB4 are all games which we saw already. Of course these games are great, but we know these games since Gamecube times. These are not new. Only Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 did something new, both will be remembered in 20 years.

I see, for a moment I thought you were a lost cause. |
Oh I am a lost cause but even on lost causes the situation for these two particular pieces of hardware is obvious. I think the best case scenario for the Vita is it sells another million or so lifetime. Wii U should get considerable enough bumps from their offerings this year to get past 11 million and put Vita permanently in its rearview.
The reason why the Vita is not constantly critisiced for being a failure* is because it's a well known fact that it is, and the vita hate threads have decreased due to this reason. The Wii U on the other hand is a console whose manufacturer still supports it and yet somehow still seems to be selling below expectations, therefore this leads to more hate directed towards the Wii U as it's failure is more apparent. In my case I prefer the Wii U since it has good games and lots of them.
* By failure I am referring to the amount of console sold.

I have only stated facts. Wii U and Vita are both failures Wii U has better quality games than Vita Wii U has more system sellers in 2015 than Vita. No bias there. |
I marked the bias for your reference.
