Also it looks like you want to use ray tracing with this one.

What's 60hz RT off look like?

60hz / fps with RT vs 120hz / fps without.

The one with the good looking water puddles, and reflections is the RT one.
It apparently effects almost everything in this game.  Even the faces and lightning/shadows look vastly better with RT on.

RTGI is more important than the reflections for me.

I can't help but feel like the base PS5 version is not being served as well as it could.

1. The upscaling is pretty bad and worse than what we've seen from Capcom in the past (using FSR1 when RE4 uses FSR2)
2. The Switch 2 version uses some downgraded assets to spare up resources but at a glance those assets look the same. Maybe they should be considered for a PS5 RT mode.

I think the base PS5 should at least be able to get an RT GI mode considering how well they've been able to scale down the assets on S2 whilst mostly hitting 40+ Fps.

Huge increase. Looks very good. Glad to see upscaling becoming more and more of a thing, and with improvements. The ps5 pro version is a massive jump over the base ps5.

rtx 4090, 32 gb ram, i7-13700k

Switch 2

Hopefully it gets even better when PS6 launches.

I suspect it will be way better with the ps6.  For starters the ps6 is going to be way better at RT than the ps5/pro, and upscaling is only going to get better.  I think RT is very much still in its infancy, I don't think we have seen anything yet.

I think it's the only hope for the PS6 to even be $600, I don't really want to see a $1000 console as the base, if they can offset the raw power with this kind of techs, plus the diminishing returns we are getting, games can still look and run awesome without consoles price getting out of hand.

I still expect the PS6 will not hit as low as $600 regardless, but still, hopefully this can help as much as possible.

No, I mean is there a third option where you can get 60hz without RT. This is a comparison between 60hz and 120hz... why not compare 60/60 with RT on and off. There could be better SSR in the 60hz RT off that would make things look better than that 120hz image.

At first I thought Ray Tracing wasn't a big deal in games... But I was wrong. In titles like Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and Ghostwire: Tokyo, it makes a big difference. And based on those screenshots, it looks like Requiem is another good example.

Upscaling helps a lot, and PSSR seems to be doing a good job on PS5 Pro. Here's hoping for a good performance on the base PS6 in the future.

And then you see full Path Traced settings and realize how much RT only settings are missing compared to it (let alone non-RT one).

Then again, Path traced version is devastating GPUs.

Can't wait for next gen when we don't have half-baked Ray Tracing and A.I upscaling... This is laying the technological groundwork to make that leap.
