One thing, All the huge sales numbers happen in December. Why the focus on November. Sales push in that month doesn’t start till Black Friday near the end of the month.

Curious if how other months top 10 compare to November. Wonder if they are that different out side of summer and Jan/feb which are typically low.

November has been historically very strong as well. 20 years ago not so much, but the last 10-15 years, it is like half of December (which is itself 4-5 times of a normal month). November is strong not only because of black Friday but because the holidays are starting with it, and especially lately sales are all over the whole month, many stores started to do sales for the full month, not waiting till the last Friday. The other strong months like January or September/October, are decently below November most of the times if not all.

God damn, I knew Nintendo does well during the holidays but that is another level of domination.

Seems like Sony goes really aggressive and all in on November with Black Friday deals, etc. while Nintendo is content with letting things happen naturally and they just completely dominate December.

Expectation of sales this holiday in different markets:

November (Japan):
PS5: 85k.
Switch 2: 500k.

December (Japan):
PS5: 280k.
Switch 2: 1M.

November (Europe):
PS5: 1,3M.
Switch 2: 550k.

December (Europe):
PS5: 1,4M.
Switch 2: 850k.

November (US):
PS5: 900k.
Switch 2: 700k.

December (US):
PS5: 1M.
Switch 2: 1,3M.

I can always do changes if necessary. I wanted when you look at the chart, to know easily which colors is which system, and also if a given holiday is for the same system, to be obvious right away, not needing to look at the legend again. I can make all of them different but it will be like rainbow. I've now updated the OG post, with the same charts, but bigger labels, and the same colors through all of the three, for each system.

• Red - DS
• Dark Red - Switch
• Black - Wii
• Blue - PS5
• Whiter blue - PS4

For PS5 sales based on last months sales tempo in different markets you should expect from now on Europe>US>Japan in monthly sales.
While for Switch 2 sales you should expect US>Japan>Europe when it comes to monthly sales. (US will be number 1 market during holidays for Switch 2, while Japan may sometimes be the main market for Switch 2 in months outside holidays.)
