Yeah, I don't think XBS is reaching XBO.

I said as much in 2020, xbo will sell more than their next gen console. XB is a dead brand ms just dont want to let it go.

Even with the decline in XBOX this year, I am still 50/50 about whether the system is going to peak in the next 2/3 years, or will continue the path downwards.

My sales comparison threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdown / Historical Showdown / YOY Charts / 140M+ Club Chart / Quantity of Games

Almost 20:1 PS5 vs Xbox is completely bonkers. And seeing NPD data seems like the shift of consoles last year (November/22 most PSs going to USA) made for a small but significant drop in USA but a huge increase in Europe for this year.
But will all that unless Sony promos for December, pricecuts for 2024 and massive dump of consoles it is even harder to see a 25M shipment occuring.
Switch is finally dropping hard YoY, but a lot latter than I was expecting.

Their most antecipated title didn't move the needle, I don't think CoD on GP will be enough to reverse the trend, so I'm expecting it to keep downward but hopefully not as steepy (-25%) as it been for this year.

insane sales for the ps5 should end this year with more than 52 million units sold as December will be a month of 5 weeks

Good to see Modern Warfare III declining a lot. Hopefully its legs are bad showing that releasing something that rushed is not a good idea.

European Estimates from IB November 2023 (Not including UK, Germany and some smaller markets):
PS5: 977k
Xbox Series: 53k

What the hell

Yeah the huge decline of XBox is something. Talk about a 'cliff'. At the start of this generation, I was at least thinking it would do a bit better than XBox One and chip away a bit of Sony's marketshare, because they seemed to be doing things right. But now, it's just been left in the dust.

As an Xbox fan, Microsoft can only blame itself for its INEXISTENT marketing (at least in France).

NPD/Circana out yesterday and now Europe report out today. I'm going to write up the daily news then work on the Europe estimates and have them up later today and hopefully worldwide up tomorrow.
